Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong area. I am a bride who has “more to love” and just feel more comfortable in this forum. Truth be told, I wish I had never found this website–I can spend hours!! 🙂
I am having a “Tiffany and Co.” themed wedding–love the colors, book, movie, and store.
But I fell in love (and purchased) an ivory dress. I have always heard that “the bride and groom should match.” So, I planned that FI would wear an ivory shirt and black tie.
Will it look weird that my flower girl is wearing a white dress with a Tiffany blue sash? What about the best man and ring bearer (wearing Tiffany blue ties) wearing white shirts?
Am I over-thinking this? I mentioned something to my Future Mother-In-Law about the ivory/white debate, and she told me all should wear white–well, except for me, since I already bought my dress in the color I preferred.
I appreciate any and all advice! Thanks in advance! 🙂

I don’t think it really matters, and no one would probably notice except you. My dress will be ivory, and FIs shirt is probably going to be white.
Good luck with your planning ! 🙂

I don’t think that it matters either. I don’t even think that I would even notice, but I do think that it will help the two of you stand out from everyone else.

I think that sounds great–definitely don’t drive yourself crazy with too many details!

I agree with PPs – most people won’t even notice, and shouldn’t care. The bride and groom are supposed to stand out a bit. 🙂 Just an idea – have you thought of your man wearing a black shirt? Just in case you do decide that it would bug you. 🙂

Thanks, ladies. I know you all know what is best. We are paying for the wedding ourselves and have finally gotten over the worry that “it might look cheap” despite everyone telling us how excited they are to come to a wedding that won’t “be a show.” And so, these are the stupid things I worry about now–notice how I am not at all worried about the blues matching, which concerns most Tiffany brides lol. Luckily, since we are paying for it ourselves, I get to choose whatever I want. 🙂 And, tks, I have to make the joke about myself even though you definitely didn’t mean it this way: pretty sure as I plus-sized bride, I will stand out from everyone else! And I am TOTALLY okay with that–hehe!

I wore an ivory dress and my husband and his men wore white shirts. It looked perfectly fine! I personally think having the guys all match each other would work best, but there are no rules and you can do what you’d like!
