Pick whatever you want!  My Boyfriend or Best Friend and I definitely won’t use “our” song.  It’s beautiful, but it’s in a minor key and sounds kind of sad.  We’ll choose another love song that’s wonderful and meaningful to us!

In the almost 6 years we’ve been together, we’ve never had an “our” song. I guess the closest thing would be Buttercup but we’re certainly not dancing to that. You can pick whichever song you want to be your first dance. I’ve been trying to figure out our first dance song for almost 6 months and I’ve still got nothing!

Dance to whatever song you want. It’s your wedding. Our song is “Jessie’s Girl”. We definitely won’t be having our first dance to that song. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Definitely not!  You can use whatever song you want.  We don’t even have a song – I think it’s just expected that you choose something that would be meaningful for you as a couple.

The first song should be whatever song you feel is a nice song to dance to as your first.  ๐Ÿ™‚  I think many people choose “their song” because of the special significance it holds.  But if you’re tired of it, I think that’ll create wrong kind of feeling.

I think considering how many billions of songs there are (well maybe not BILLIONS), you two will be able to find a song that feels special and meanigful.  ๐Ÿ™‚

“our” song wasn’t right for the first dance at all–too slow to really dance to, sad sounding lyrics, etc. we picked a different one, one that made us both get a little choked up when we were searching through songs that would capture the right feeling for the moment

We have lots of songs that are special to us.  However we danced to “Blue Moon” , an oldie, because Hubs was “without a dream in his heart” until we got together;)

No, I don’t think it does.  FH & I have never even really had a song we considered “our song” throughout 8 years of dating.  We have found a song we love and are going to use for our first dance song, and now that feels like “our song.”  He even keeps referring to it as our song now when he wants me to play it in the car. lol  We’re going to dance our first dance to “Warmness on the Soul” by Avenged Sevenfold.

I was the same way. I picked a different song for our first dance, but “our song” was played for the proposal so I feel that it has been included enough. lol

Nope, I think a wedding is a perfect opportunity to add a new “our song” to your aresenal.
