My back started doing that around 6 months when I really started to show.

Usually, your stance changes to balance out the weight/tummy. Otherwise you would fall over forward. 🙂

@roxy821:  I’m only going to be 12 weeks on Thursday, but I find that most pregnant women’s lower backs kill them from the weight of the pregnancy. So I would think that they are mostly just trying to keep themselves from toppling forward!

My back is aching constantly so if I’m arching or leaning a certain way sometimes it feels better. Also, any bump photos I take don’t look good if I’m slumped over either lol so I’m sure I arch my back a little more than usual.

I’ve noticed that my back arches forward now – not massively, but it’s definitely more arched than it was before pregnancy!  I think it’s just part of the changes our body goes through during pregnancy.  I’m currently almost 26 weeks, still have a fairly small bump, and haven’t had any back pain to speak of; yet, my back has been arched since about 16 weeks or so and there’s nothing I can do to make it straighter, so it’s definitely something beyond my control.   Ah the fun changes we go through!
