Plating is VERY thin! Like, depending on which process they use and how many times they dip it, potentially a few atoms thin. It should be just fine 🙂

My jeweler told me each time I get the ring dipped, the engraving will fade a little bit.

I have a ring with engraving on the inside of the band and have had it redipped three times. It definitely is not as pronounced as it used to be, but no one but myself would ever know that. You can still read it no problem but it definitely isn’t quite as sharp as it was when I first got it.
