@Dialysate:  LMAO (and I rarely type that)!!!! “I couldn’t think of anything but super tacky plastic platform flip flops, but couldn’t find any tall enough!” Mental image of this is beyond hilarious!!!

I used to be worried about the mess, than I discovered something AMAZING. The Instead Soft Cup (http://www.softcup.com/). You can have mess-free sex with it in! It sits up high against your cervix, so it doesn’t get in the way. Neither I nor my SO could feel it.

And seriously, I will never go back to pads/tampons. They’re so gross after going with the soft cup. I feel like I’m not even on my period. I only change it every 12 hours.

And did I mention the mess-free sex?

    Convert, ladies.

@cirk:  I do want to warn you that if you are highly prone to cysts on your ovaries and you have one when the IUD is placed that you might have severe pain. I found that out the hard way when I had my IUD placed a couple months ago. The pain was so bad that I couldn’t stand without doubling over and I ended up going to the ER. Turns out that placing the IUD irritated the cyst that I had and was possibly poking it which it why I had such bad pain. Other than that and the extended, super light periods that I have now it’s actually not so bad. I do, however, also have the issue of the ends of the IUD sticking into my uterus which causes pain sometimes, but manageable pain. Every woman is different, but that’s a side effect that no one had ever mentioned to me and I thought I would share.

@cloverbug:  that sounds awful! But thankfully I’ve never had any cystal problems, and don’t have a family history of them.

@cirk:  Then I hope that it goes smoothly for you. Like I said, after the initial insertion it’s really not that bad and it’ll definitely minimize the cramps you’re having already. Hopefully that’ll make life easier for you.

We do every once in a while. I am at my friskiest, but he’s a bit turned off by it, though I love the natural lubrication (is that gross?)

Lol! When SO moved into his townhouse with his roommates, he bought a few bright red towels, which wasn’t so weird because it was my favorite color, and then he tells me, “These are yours for your time of the month.”

We like to use them as bed towels. He is so smart sometimes!

I don’t want anything in me during bleeding time, so no vaginal intercourse for that week.

My husband sometimes refers to my period as “Blowjob Week” though, so he’s cool with it.

@paula1248:  I almost did the same thing!

Sex stops for us. Like Ron White says, “Just cuz a roller coaster is down doesn’t mean they shut down the whole park!” ….meaning we get intimate in other ways. LOL

A good orgasm is one of the best cures for cramps!

It’s a no for us as it really doesn’t appeal to either of us. We tried it once and.. well, it’s not for us. My time of the month just gets renamed “blowjob week” lol

@Hyperventilate:  Sex definitely stops for us. BUT…when I know I’m about to walk the red carpet I usually wan’t to have sex to make it come sooner. Yeah weird I know but the sooner I walk the red carpet the better.

@fishbone:  Oh it is? Then I need to get out the egg!

I voted other because won’t do it unless the flow is pretty much gone. I don’t mind doing it on the period, but my Fiance doesn’t prefer it.

@sheepandbear:  YES re: the different on vs off the pill. The second month after I stopped using, I seriously thought I might have to go to the doctor. Now I just kinda look down at the general area of my uterus and ask it WTF randomly.

I answered “other” because we only stop full on intercourse. Other options are still very much in play.

I don’t enjoy sex during periods because I’m generally not in the mood – I get cramps, headaches, fatigue etc. But my ex used to insist. For some reason, it used to turn him on hugely. Anybody think that’s abnormal?
