So technology is amazing, I cant imagine life without the bee or google, but does anyone ever get really tired of constantly having technology everywhere you go? My Fiance is obsessed with his iphone (ok, im a lil obsessed with mine too) but I get so aggravated when we are at dinner and he is on his phone, or when we are watching a movie and hes on his phone. I mean, really? We are supposed to be watching a movie and you aren’t entertained enough by the movie so you have to check espn.com while we are watching it???? Then when we are getting ready for bed, he has to check espn, failblog, yahoo, netflix before we go to sleep!
Does anyone else have this problem? I have already asked him that he not mess with his phone while we are out eating dinner, but sometimes I feel like Im nagging him about it, which I really dont wanna do

I tihnk you need a no phone zone when you are going out to dinner. Turn it off, leave it at home, something. It is completely rude of him to be on the phone when he is out with you.

I think the bedroom should be a no phone zone too!
He is taking it a little far and I would be really annoyed with that too!
Fiance and I both have iphones but we do not use them while spending quality time together – whatever that may be at the time. Including phone calls – you can always call the person back later!

HoneyBear, I feel your pain. My husband is wonderful, honestly he just blows me away with how kind and thoughtful and romantic he is, how fun he is to be with, how much he takes care of me. He is truly almost too good to be true, except for one small issue. HE IS GLUED TO HIS PHONE. The man takes the phone into the bathroom with him! About the only place that is safe is church…and even then I’ve seen him check Facebook or his email before church starts.
I have no solution for you. I have just accepted it as an annoying quirk of his, As my mother told me, all men have flaws, you just have to find one whose flaws you can deal with. I wish I could say it doens’t bother me, but it does. Oh well, I suppose if that is my only complaint about him (and it is), I should consider myself very fortunate.

As we speak we are both on our laptops while watching The office. Not speaking to each other. We are each doing our wedding related duties though and this is the only time we have a chance to do it. In general though I am the one always wanting to be on my phone pr on the computer. It is just a habit and if it starts to annoy Fiance I stop right away. I just don’t like to be still for to long I need to be doing something, even if it’s just catching up on my gossip!

we’re both technies (engineers are notorious for being glued to technology) and i have a tendency to play on mine while multi-tasking (i am right now–Dh is watching the baseball game and reading) but if he said “hey put it down” i would. Obv it doesn’t bug him as of yet. In fact, we play Angry Birds on my iphone before bed and pass the phone back and forth.

YES – technology gets in the way! My Fiance does computer networking for a living and then comes home and… hides in his office doing… more computer work. We try to seek a balance, but it definitely can be frustrating at time.

YES – but for me it’s his computer. He’s obsessed with it and I’m glad kind of because we met on-line. LOL. But, he’s constantly researching something. Also glad that’s happening because he’s smart and I like that obviously. He didn’t go on facebook until last year when I showed him how and he gets a little attached to that. No, a lot attached….kind of gets on my nerves. I’ve asked him before “don’t bring your computer to the house – let’s have a no computer weekend together.” Did that work? No – but it really minimized the time spent staring at the screen. I’m sorry but I’m in front of the computer all day – I need a BREAK.
The good news is this weekend he was working on editing a movie from our vacation and our photos – so that was fun. But, at any given time, when he has a free moment…or even when we eat breakfast…that darn computer is there too.
