I think most deliver it. It’s a lot ot ask on a wedding day to have you deliver your own cake.

They know how to properly move it and transport it to prevent damage, etc.

There may be a small fee involved for delivery, but most would do it as part of the deal.

They deliver it.  It’s hard transporting a cake of that size, so you want the experts to do it, anyway!

There a lot of risk involved if you transport it yourself. I’d much rather leave that up to the professionals. Our bakery charged like $100 for delivery (and they only had to travel 5 miles) but it was worth not having to deal with it ourselves.

I think it’s very difficult to transport it yourself. All the places I talked delivered the cakes for you.

You can pick it up and it saves you money to do so, but if you mess it up, then you have to have your baker come and fix it and that is more cost for time.

It’s your wedding.  Cut costs other ways, unless your venue is very close to your reception, I would not take a chance.

Every place I talked to delivered it to the venue. They all charged extra for delivery and distance played a factor. We ended up going with our caterer for the cake.

My cake place delivers the cake to the site. 35 dollars for a smaller cake or 50 for a larger.

Our cake maker is in Cairns and are delivering it to Port Douglas (about 70km away) for an $80 fee. I think that’s pretty reasonable to leave it to a professional.

Our bakery doesn’t deliver (but our wedding is also a good hour outside of town), so we’ll have a relative pick it up beforehand.

We are paying a $20 charge to have it delivered.
