I’ve always been under the impression that the groom buys the brides band and the bride buys the grooms. Therefore, I bought my fiance’s wedding band 🙂 I guess it just really depends on your financial situation too.

cincakes:  i bought his ring. I think what it comes down to is the couples and what they decide. There is nothing wrong with you buying it or him. We went to a few stores and he tried on a few rings.we found what he liked and i bought it.

I bought his ring. We went together and picked out our wedding bands and he paid for mine and I paid for his!

I bought both our bands, as I got my bank card out first.

The way I see it, he dropped major dough on my ring.  Also, our finances will be the same in 6 months anyway.  At this point it doesn’t really matter.

cincakes:  Usually you buy each other’s. I think my husband and I had already pooled our money together by then, so it might have been bought with shared funds. It was a long time ago. But I think for most couples, they buy each other’s.

Like PPs I thought the bride and groom were meant to buy each other’s. in any case this is what we’ll be doing and it’s a sweet deal for me because I’ll be getting a diamond eternity band and at the moment he’s leaning towards tantalum or another dark metal

After what he dropped on the engagement ring, yeah, I think so.

I actually bought both of our wedding bands. He spent a pretty penny on the engagement ring, so it was the least I could do.

I think it’s common for the bride to buy the groom’s ring but not required. It’s really up to you and your Fiance. I only have one payment left on my FI’s band and I’m so excited for it to get it! Still not sure how we’ll figure out my band though, but I’m guessing I’ll be paying for it too.

I think traditionally the bride buys the grooms ring and vice versa – but thses days I think the lines are a little more blurred.

When my Fiance bought my Engagement Ring half the money came from our joint account and half from his personal account. Our wedding bands came from the joint account.

I paid for his ring. He paid for mine. His was a lot cheaper, I definitely got the better deal!
