@BellsforHer:

I’m in the same boat! My birthday is coming up, too. I’m pretty sure we won’t get engaged until late Spring. So tough to wait!

With my ex it was torture around the holidays cause he had told me I was getting it  for christmas, so I got all excited (did my nails pretty and everything) and then it didn’t happen! :p and I had to spend the whole week with him after wondering if I should say anything

The holidays are ALWAYS worse, all the big-name jewelers have their holiday ads on tv that are like, “show her how much you love her this Christmas” with giant diamond rings on the screen. It’s torture!!

@happy2bee:

In the same boat as you I fear – SO has already hinted he won’t be proposing at Christmas as it will be too predictable, so I am only guessing my wait will take me now beyond the new year.

Oh yeah, I agree everything is weddings at the moment on TV and billboards etc!

@MisfitPrincess: Agreed.

I also remember before I was engaged that around the holidays (especially Christmas and New Year’s) it seemed that EVERYONE else was getting engaged except for me. Even my Fiance proposed to me on New Year’s.

My dear bees I know waiting S-U-C-K-S, I waited for six years. Trust me when I say this, enjoy the anticipation and joy the waiting game brings…revel in it. This is the only time you will get to experience these pre-engaged jitters and bouts of excitement.

I haven’t been waiting as long as some of the other bees so I don’t anticipate the holiday season to make ‘waitng’ any harder…but if this was our 4th, 5th, 6th (or longer) holiday season together as boyfriend/girlfriend I would not be looking forward to the family asking why we’re not engaged/married yet, ect.  I feel for anyone who will be going through this during the holiday season!  Stay strong and try to enjoy each day!

Holidays last year were tourture. I knew he had the ring, and we were traveling half way across the country to see our families. He ended up proposing the night we got back from our trip haha. He was really nervous!

Oh how I hope the holidays won’t make me crazy this year lol last year it was a hope but kinda in the back of my mind, but this year I know he’s thinking about it and has probably paid for some if not all of the ring. I know he’s got something up his sleeves, and he has said sometime in the next six months (which when he said it put me somewhere after Vday) so I thought it could be anywhere from our two year anniversary (Oct 14th) to Vday. He keeps hinting that I’m going to be getting a big present for my Birthday (Dec 7th) and then he also says the same of Christmas. So I’m hoping it’s somewhere in December! lol But knowing him it will be somewhere around Easter! lol
