Does the wedding decor/theme depend on the venue? What was your theme & venue

lizbeth09 :  The way a venue looks can pull your theme together. We had a rustic theme but an indoor/outdoor wedding. However, our venue had vaulted ceilings and open wood beams – this added to the theme without being in a barn. The outdoor area was very park-like with a view of the lake – again adding to the rustic theme.

Any venue can be made rustic, you just may need more decor to get it there. Do you ahve pictures of your venue? Is it strictly indoors only with no outdoor space?

I think it depends on how the inside of the venue looks.  Say it’s a formal ballroom, I don’t think it would really “flow.”  My venue is a large historical room with dark wood floors and exposed brick walls, im doing very simple with a lot of greenery and white flowers and candles to not take away from how beautiful the room is as a whole.

lizbeth09 :  I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Have the decor you like.

lizbeth09 :  We are having our wedding in a Barn, and going for a sort of rustic elegance. I am sure you can do the same in your space, bringing rustic touches.

lizbeth09 : Awesome, the open metal – play off that. So doable!! Can you add white lights? You may be able to drape those, borrow christmas lights from family and friends. Think more “urban/rustic wedding” or “industrial rustic wedding” – google that wording for great ideas! Here are a few:

I definitely think you can pull that off with your venue.

lizbeth09 :  I think it would still be okay to do even inside a hall. Your theme is your theme. It doesn’t matter where. My theme is a huge mix between like a fairytale Disney and Indian theme. Navy blue and gold colors. My fiance is Indian so we are trying to incorporate some of his traditions but also include our love of Disney as well so we will have  a disney cake topper and ring box and ride away in a cinderella carriage.
