It might? It’s so hard to tell without the bolero actually on you.  I’m afraid it might be too busy for your dress, but is there a way for you to try it?  My instinct is that you’ll need to go more in the shrug direction than a bolero.

I second both of pengoala‘s points—the lace might compete w/everything else going on w/ your dress. A shrug style bolero wouldn’t compete as much.

Oh my goodness, your dress is the most beautiful!  I also say leave it as is without any cover up.  It’s just so pretty as is.

Oh sorry, I didn’t see your part about the snow.  How about a stole than only covers your shoulders but not the neckline?

It might, but seriously–that is not going to keep you warm at all if it snows.

I would get a white fur stole! I LOVE how snow-season brides look with them. Borrow one or you can even rent them. That way when you’re indoors for the dancing you can let that gorgeous dress shine all on its own!

I personally think it will overpower the dress as it has so much detail already, perhaps a simpler, less lacy bolero or like a satin shawl to cover your shoulders?

Check on eBay, I have gotten some very nice vintage mink stoles on there in the past.  I also love the suggestions above of white fur.  Very classy and classic… U will look soooooo elegant!

Your dress is beautiful, and I think the lace will take away from it.  Also, if you want to wear a bolero because it will be cold, honestly this flimsy one will be the same as not wearing one at all.

I agree with PPs that the lace doesn’t quite work with your dress AND will not keep you warm. A regular bolero may work, but I think a stole/wrap would be best. Fur, fake fur, angora, maribou feathers… you have plenty of options.
