The picture of the bridesmaid dress is very small, so kind of hard to tell… but I kind of think that something more modern and with no sleeves or short sleeves would match better.  I like your dress a lot though!  And I like the potential bridesmaid dress.  I’m just not sure they go together.  Another thing to think about: whenever I’ve seen pictures of bridesmaids in any shade of beige with a bride in ivory, it can, depending on the light, look like everyone is wearing almost the same color.

I agree that the wedding dress seems pretty modern compared to the bridesmaid dress. I think if you can get the bridesmaid dress in a darker color, it may go together better.

@britpopbabyx: That’s the thing. I kind of think both have a retro feel. Just in different ways. The big difference is the fabric. Your dress looks to be pretty solid, like satin, while the bm dress seems more flowy, like a chiffon overlay. That’s why I think it would work best with a ‘modern’ bm dress color. Color is so hard to see online! good luck!

Compared to your dress (which is beautiful and elegant) the bm dresses, to me, look a little ‘old fashion’.  I might rethink this one and definitely check out your options.

Love the bridesmaids dress but not really with your wedding dress! Your dress is very modern (and beautiful BTW)

If you wanted to stick with a short dress I think this one would compliment your dress very well and is not too expensive (David’s Bridal) also it is available in tons of colors!

OK, they can add straps and how about a bolero jacket?  Davis Bridal also has various dresses that all kinda fall in similar look so maybe you can find 2 dresses and they can pick between the 2.  Or just one color and they pick different dresses.  David’s also has the seperates section where they can have the same skirt, butdifferent tops-or betwen 2 tops.

I have nmy 19 yr old step daughter who is a real skinny, pale eclectic dresser and my sister who is 48, very full figured, tries to stay in modern trend dresser!  iM BEING OPEN RIGHT NOW, JUST FOCUSING MORE ON COLOR AND LENGTH OF DRESS. You can hem any full length so you have more options.  Good luck!
