I don’t think it looks like a cupcake!  I’m not too big on the pickups personally.

What does it look like on you? All dresses look different on models than they do real people. Also, for the photo shoot, the designer may have extra crinolines or hoop skirts under the dress that won’t be worn in real life so that will change the look as well. So it really doesn’t matter in the end what it looks like on the model because that isn’t reality.

Either way, I would not call that a cupcake dress since it is a non-poofy a-line. A poofy ballgown that drowns the bride, regardless of pleats or other gathering, would fit that description much better.

I admit to calling dresses with numerous pick-ups like that “cupcake” dresses. The one you posted is definitely a less cupcake-y dress though! I have nothing against them, just not my style!

I don’t think it looks cupcakish, but I am not fond of pickups. They are great for other people, but not for me. I tried some gowns on that had them and they looked really good on me, but I felt like I would be playing with them all the time to make them look just right.

I’m just generally not a fan of pickups.  They usually remind me of those gathered curtains/valances.  I don’t think this particular dress looks like a cupcake though.

I think the dress is gorgeous.  Doesn’t look like a cupcake at all to me.

I admit it I’m one of the girls who calls dresses with pick ups cupcake dresses, I’m just not a fan but I’m gunna agree with pp’s this one isn’t as bad as others. I think it’s because it’s not as wrapped on the upper half so you don’t get the full fondant look. Also as another poster said we really have to see it on you to give the best and most honest opinion but I know that’s next to impossible, sometimes those bridal shop attendants will walk in when you’re half naked just to make sure you’re not sneaking pictures!

I tried that dress on a few weeks ago! The dress falls very nicely once on and the work on the top of the dress is super flattering. I do not think it looks like a cupcake

Funny that ya’ll are calling the pick-ups cupcake like because when trying on dresses 2 years ago with my SIL she tried on a dress that had a layer of material along the neck-line (dress was strapless) that had the folds/ruffle that the wrap on a cupcake has. So we called it cupcake dress.

As for you’re dress, I think it is beautiful! Love the color 🙂

I think its pretty, I love the top, but I’m not a fan of pick-ups and I think thats my age not so much of the look.  I have seen some dresses that look like cupcakes they are so full from the crenoline.  You would have to try it on and see how it looks.

I’ve seen dresses that look more like a cup cake than this one.
