The church is historic, so no decorations affixed to anything. I am assuming their concern is scratching the wood and so they don’t want anything hung, taped, etc.
They allow flowers if they are placed upon something that will protect the furnishings from any water spills.
I don’t think the church needs a lot of extra decor BUT I am bringing an aisle runner. Don’t know what else I can (or should) do?
Sorry, this is the only pic I have of the interior at the moment and there was something else going on when the pic was taken, obviously. I found it on google images.

We got married in a garden and I saw no need to decorate. We didn’t decorate the reception area either as I thought the conference center looked plenty classy. I don’t see much need to decorate in the church. Maybe some flowers if that pleases you.

I think its really beautiful. I say spend the money somewhere else.

It’s beautiful! I don’t think you need any decorations for it.

If you want to personalize it, you could make some pomanders to hang on the pews, but it really doesn’t need anything extra. I think it looks great the way it is.

gosh it’s beautiful! i love the color. I doesn’t need anything at all but if you want to add a few touches I would go with the aisle runner and maybe a few smaller altar arrangements.

I love it! Add some flower arrangements to the altar and you’re set!

Oh, that is so pretty! How old is it? I wouldn’t worry about decorating it. Maybe a few bright white lilies or something.

I would leave it – I love the character. We didn’t decorate our church either – there is a small amount of time spent there considering all day!

Wow, y’all are fast today!!
The church was built in 1902 in North Dakota. It was purchased and moved to Decorah Iowa in 1992 and everything inside is original.
And you guys are right…it doesn’t need anything really. I will buy a runner and call it good, I think. One less thing to do!
Thanks for the feedback! And yes, I love the interior color.. just love it.

I like the idea of white flowers at the alter and/or on the pews but you could make them simple and it would be gorgeous! You don’t need to do much- Beautiful place!! And I love the color!

@noritake22: I thought about pomanders but I don’t know if anything would really hang on the pews considering the tops are pretty small. It’s so hard when you can’t see things in person beforehand!
