So I feel like a total newb asking but this I kind of am so here goes..
I stopped BC early May and was up to CD50 without a period (prior to BC 8 years ago I was on a 28 day cycle like clockwork). Last Sunday I started brown spotting very lightly for about 3 days, after that it turned into light red/pink spotting and lasted another 2 days with one of the days being heavier spotting but never enough to use a tampon. It stopped yesterday. I POAS and it’s all BFN. I’m also fairly sure I haven’t ovulated off the pill.
Should I count this as a period and restart my cycle? And should I start using OPKs anytime soon or wait until I get a full flow period to do anything?
Thank you! I feel stupid having to ask but the internet searches werent much help…

Cycle day one is fresh bleeding where you need a tampon or pad, so I wouldn’t count that. I would try temping to see what is happening wihth your cycle. You just need a thremometer with 2 decimal points and download the app fertility friend.

I think you should count it as your period, because in the 5 months or so I was off the pill before I conceived, that’s how all my periods were. I never had any red blood and wound up pregnant, so I must have been ovulating.

daisy351: I agree, I would count it while your body is adjusting to going off BC. Your OPK should tell you when to start testing based on your usual cycle length, but it might take a while before everything becomes normal again. Get Fertility Friend App to start tracking your cycles.
