vilo:  yes  your ramblings make perfect sence!  do some research on diamonds for yourself.  Personally I feel like Jewelry is what you make of it.  It has no intrinisic value only the dollar amount we assign to it. So get what you love.  My BF and I had differences in what we like.  He wanted perfect good quality diamond for me.  Flawless/ colorless.  But I wanted something else and we setled on something that most people would condiser as bad quality and an undiserable diamond!  But at the end of the day I LOVE it and that is what matters.  After all not many people are going to pull out a scope and examine your diamond and if they do I would get some new friends.  LOL If you do not like the contrast of a halo setting, go classic and let it’s beauty shine in a solitare setting.  Check out my thread: Diamonds…Are they all hype? I was having some doubts, and the other bees reasssured me.  It was my first post, so please forgive my slightly offensive tone.

Its a pretty stone even if it’s not a perfect one. I think it will look great once it’s set. It’s an heirloom and it’s free! If you get it apraised you will know just how much you saved! Haha.

I had a friend who went for size over quality. A huge 5ct diamond that cost about $3000. Can you imagine what it looked like? She didn’t care. She loved it. She thought it had “character” and loved that it was huge.
