So I’ve been looking through a bunch of different newlywed/marriage blogs over the last few days and I haven’t found anything that really grabs me mainly because:
1. They are all about 1 couple, generally only from the woman’s POV.
2. Any grains of interesting advice are littered with mundane junk about their lives. If I want to know what a woman made for dinner, what cute thing her dog did, what she bought for her friends b-day, etc. I would read my facebook feed. Nobody seems to stay on topic.
3. The good parts are also clouded by things like celebrity advice or 5 points ripped from another site or blabby stuff that sounds like it was copied from Marie Claire’s sex pages.
(I understand the reason for this is one couple and one person can’t have a steady stream of pretty pearly wisdom every day. Totally get that and I’m not ripping on people for talking about their lives in their blogs or copying things that they found useful or interesting.)
What I’d really like to find is some sort of website or blog that has individual posts or stories from many different couples talking about different issues they encountered during their marriage maybe with some fun things to try or communication techniques that worked. Nothing too magazine like but well organized and well written. I wouldn’t ming if it had a religious bent as long as it wasn’t all about “Buy my 12 step program to marital bliss”. I want interesting stories and thoughtful advice.
Does such a thing exist?
Anybody read a blog or site that’s close to this?
