So I bought this wedding band on a whim from Overstock, hoping it would look decent with my e-ring, but I’m not so sure I should keep it. I was hoping there wouldn’t be much of a gap, but obviously there is one, and there’s also a slight difference in color. What do you think? I don’t mind the gap, but the color is bothering me. I think it kind of makes my e-ring look bad! Should I return the wedding band? Most likely I’m going to have to end up getting a custom band because nothing off the shelf is going to fit flush against my halo setting 🙁
Really noticeable with the bright flash.

Like you, I think the color difference is what’s throwing it off. It also looks like the diamonds in the band are a bit bigger than the ones in your e-ring band/halo area. I’d aim for a band that has similar sizes of diamonds….
Also, if you don’t want to go the custom route, have you thought about just a plain straight band? To me, that would look better (ie, intentional) than trying to find a curved one.
Very pretty ering, btw! 🙂
ETA: plain straight band being just straight w/ no curve but think it would be pretty with diamonds!

I don’t think it looks quite right. It might look better if you had one for each side to even it out (not sure how you feel about two bands). I say keep looking. You’ll find something! Have you tried going to local jewelers to try on their curved rings?

I don’t really care for it, the shape is funny next to your (gorgeous, btw) e-ring. Especially if you’re having doubts, I’d return it.

The colour difference is pretty noticable. I think your e-ring would look great with a straight band with a gap in between!

I don’t think it looks horrible, but the color difference is definitely noticeable! Personally, it would bother me to see the difference in color.

Eh, I think you could find something tons better.

Thanks for the input, everyone! I’ll go ahead and return it. I wouldn’t mind a plain band at all, but I’m worried the gap may be too big if it has no curve. I guess I do need to go try some on at our jeweler. The good news is we have plenty of time to find something! I was just hoping I’d found a good deal that would work. Bummer!
ETA: From the side shot of my e-ring, you can see how nothing will fit up underneath the halo. The “basket” is about 10 mm in diameter.

I didn’t vote because there was no option for “If you don’t like it, don’t keep it” *I* think it looks fine–that or a straight band would look fine for me. But it’s your ring–if you don’t like it, return it. Custom is not that expensive.

You could add a plain band between the Overstock band and your ring.. I think that might look nice

@ejay15: Your ering is beautiful & I love gaps personally.

Thank you again for your feedback, Bees! The band pictured above will be on its way back to Overstock this afternoon!
@zomgwut: See, I just wasn’t sure if I definitely didn’t like it, I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t being overly picky (as I tend to be about stuff like this) and wanted outside feedback. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have posted to ask 🙂 Now that several people have suggested a straight band, I’m going to look into those, too. I’m not too worried about the cost of having something custom made, but I figured if I could have gotten a great deal (<$300) on something that might potentially look great, why not try?
@Diet Coke: @MabelleBliss: @CaptainSpaulding: Thanks so much, I love my e-ring!

If you go to the custom route just make sure to get the diamonds in the band to be the same color as you ering.

I had the same issue with my halo!!! and after looking at rings at the store some of the prices were crazy! for only one band! I ended up getting them custom and I am SOOOO happy i did! even with the first one it was only 1,000 the second was $700 some of the bands in the store were like 1300! and that was only one! Check out my set 🙂

@nickels: Yes, for sure! I’m not super happy with the color of the pave diamonds in my e-ring and the wedding band made me feel even worse about them because the diamonds in the band are so much whiter! As a PP mentioned, the diamonds in my e-ring are smaller than the band, but I definitely don’t want to have the same problem with a custom ring.
ETA: @CTbride2010: That looks awesome!! I love your set, it’s GORGEOUS! Thank you for sharing it…that makes me feel better 🙂
