    I don’t think it makes you look short, but if you want a taller look, I would suggest a different silhouette with a little less to the dress

    Im guessing you are also standing on a platform, but I think a dress more empire in style would better suit your height…thats what I had to do and I had my heart on dropped waist…Im just too short.

    I think the top gives you a great shape…but it does make you look a little short.  Have you tried on different styles for comparison?

    @langel86:  I agree. I’d go with a higher waist.

    That dress will be harder/more expensive to have shortened to your length because of the detail at the front bottom, but I don’t think it makes you look short.

    Yeah I agree with it needing a higher waistline, I do think it makes you look a little short right now. That being said, it’s a beautiful dress!

    I’m sorry your having the short dilemma too!  It’s such a bummer to feel like a dress doesn’t show off your best assets bit I think you look great!

    I agree with PP go for a higher waistline. But it is a beautiful dress!

    It looks great to me! Gorgeous dress, you look fabulous, with a tiny waist! who’s the designer?

    However, I’ll second what another bee said–you’re also standing on the platform. If you order that dress and have it hemmed, you may look shorter than you do in the photo. I don’t know at that point if it would make you look too short, or if you would look just as good. Are you wearing your wedding-day heels when you go try dresses on? That could definitely help!

    I don’t care for it on you for several reasons.  I don’t think the cut of the dress is flattering to your height, shape, etc.  Also, the detail at the bottom would be difficult to alter.

    I’m not sure if it makes you look short, but it certainly doesn’t make you look tall.  I think a slimmer silhouette would be more flattering in general and make you look taller.

    @Laurbear:  That is an Allure dress isn’t it? I tried a lot of those  on and they always looked a little off. I realized that the waistline was a tad but too dropped. I still bought a dropped waist big ball gown (and I am also short… 5’2) but it doesn’t look so shortening because the waistline isn’t quite as low as the Allure dresses.

    I think if you shorten it to fit you (looks like you are standing on a box…?) it might make you look short. However, if you love it, why does it matter that much, it’s beautiful!
