So today my bf’s married friend let it slip that he was asking about the 4Cs, I tried to act like I didnt catch that. Then later in the car I was reading him a weddingbee thread about how long people were dating before they got engaged and married. I commented that quite a few people got married within two years or less and he said something like, “I don’t subscribe to the notion that you need to be dating a certain amount of time before you get married. I think once you know, you know. No matter if it’s been 5 months or 5 years.”
Some background about us, we’ve been dating since December 2014. From the very beginning of our relationship he’s told me that I’m the one for him. he was the first one to say “when we get married” and we talk about marriage and our expectations often So it’s not like it’s the first time he’s mentioned it. He’s also asked me about a month ago “What would you think if I proposed?” “What like today?” “Yeah” “Ummm…. I wouldn’t expect you to at least until we get to our one year if not a year and a half. There’s no rush.”
He has access to my Pinterest ring board and in my spare time I try to teach him what I’ve learned about jewelry and diamonds/diamond alternatives (My newest passion). So…. What do you guys think?!
EDIT: I forgot to add that when we were talking about timelines he said he wants to be married by 30 and he turns 28 this week! I’m 25 just for reference.
