I think it’s cute, I would possibly tie the denim shirt though

mrsdogmama0618 :  what’s the occasion? If it’s just for casual wear, I would suggest swapping out the jean shirt for a Jean jacket. Reason being, the dress has a flowy A-line shape and the Jean shirt is flowy too which causes it to flare out from the hips down. A jean jacket is more structured and shorter in length which will contrast nicely with the dress and give a better silhouette. You’re good to go with the Vans

mrsdogmama0618 :  gotcha! A good rule of thumb is structured+flowy, structured+structured will work, flowy+flowy works occasionally but is very dependent on the items and body type. That shirt you’re wearing would look great with black leggings and a fitted t-shirt

Btw, I highly recommend adding a jean jacket to your wardrobe. You’ll get a lot of wear out of it as you can dress it up or down. Search “jean jacket outfits” on Pinterest.

I wasn’t consciously aware of that structured/flowy ‘rule’ – thank you, it makes sense .

I think you can tie a knot to the denim shirt. I’m by no means a fashionable person, my style is quite questionable too at times but that’s how I styled a similar outfit a couple of months back.

I think the dress looks OK. However if you want to make it look a little more put together you can add a belt over the shirt and dress to cinch your waist.
