Ok so my kitTy could care less about any catnip I put on anything. I’ve tried to put it on her bed and scratching posts so she’d use them and she couof care less. I follow the directions and run it with my fingers to activate its proparties but she just smells it and walks away. She is about a year old, maybe this has to do with it?
any out there like me? This is my feisty little one lulu. She’s a little biter!!!

Female cats aren’t as into catnip as male cats, because apparently the chemical that makes them crazy for it mimics the sent of females in heat.
My cat (male) goes nuts for catnip.

My 2 cats (both are castrated males) go absolutely berserk for catnip. Some cats simply don’t react to it though, it’s a hereditary gene they are missing.

My cat LOVES catnip. She goes nuts, rolls around in it, licks it…it’s pretty cute. She’ll do the same thing with toys that have catnip in them.

Adorable kitty! My cats have a pretty different reaction every time they get catnip, sometimes they go crazy for 15 minutes, other times just roll around in it for 2 minutes. I’ve noticed they react more to fresh catnip than the cheap kind that has been packaged for a while.
Btw I have a boy and girl kitty, they are both a year old 🙂

Mine loved it for about 30 seconds and then never touched catnip toys and the like again. BUT… fresh catnip is something they do like. It’s really easy to grow and I’ll just hand the one that’s left a leaf and she’ll eat it right up. I don’t think putting it on a scratching post would result in her making use of it though. We have a post she likes and she still used to jump up my doorframes until I got a place where she could go outside sometimes.

I have two girl cats and they both love the stuff, but react to it quite differently. One acts like she’s on ecstasy, and the other as if she’s just snorted 3 lines of cocaine.

Mine could take it or leave it. My moms cat however acts crazy around. She rolls all around on whatever it’s on and acts like she’s high. I’ve read young cats often don’t have much of a reaction to it.

Adorable kitty! She looks like the cat I had growing up. My cat (13 yo female) loooooooves cat nip of any kind. I put it on her scratching post and she has destroyed it. Once she is done playing, she will just sit next to the post for hours to be close to the cat nip lol.

Catnip only affects about two thirds of cats so it might be that she’s in the one third not affected. My cat goes crazy for it but is desensitised if we give to him too often so we use it as a treat every so often.

If your kitten has an affinity for catnip, it wont be discovered until around 6 months old. Until that age, it typically doesn’t affect cats.

I hadn’t met a cat that liked cat nip until we got our female cat. She goes MAD for catnip. She gets her favourite toy that is filled with cat nip and she rubs it all over her face for like an hour before she’s had enough. Our boy cat doesn’t care about cat nip at all though.

My cat likes it, but we rarely give it to her because she gets sort of paranoid and mean. Catnip does absolutely nothing for my mother-in-law’s male cat, though.

I’ve honestly never tried just catnip on my boy. He’s 8 months old and is pretty crazy already, so I don’t think he needs it lol. I have given him toys with catnip in them before. He plays with them for about 5 minutes then becomes disinterested, which is pretty much the same thing for any of his other toys.

Our current cat loves catnip but our old cat couldn’t care less. It’d be so funny to give all the cats catnip and they’d all be freaking out and he’d just be sitting there like wtf is wrong with you, morons.
He was the only cat I’ve ever owned who didn’t like it
