every fish except tuna. they’re probably intentionally being difficult, because it’s a little tricky finding fishy wet food without tuna.

ETA: by “they” I’m referencing 2 cats

We feed our cat a raw prey model diet so they’ve never eaten tuna from the can but they definitely prefer the raw stuff and now almost exclusively eat tuna.

Of our three cats one is allergic to fish and can’t have it but loves it, one hates it and one can’t get enough. Cats are like people- they individually have differernt palattes.

One of our cats thinks he is human and like to eat things like mashed potatoes (even with chilli butter mixed in) and will come and investigate whenever the chopping boards come out. He will literally climb up your leg and tap you to have a taste test/sniff approval of the food. I give him carrot scrappings, potato scrappings, little bits of zuchinni, peas. I have never met another cat like him. He also sits on a chair at the head of the table and watches us eat every night without fail. As soon as we are done he rushes to the rubbish bin to stand guard so we can’t throw left overs out!

Our one cat goes absolutely crazy for it.  By that I mean as soon as we open a can we have to make sure he doesn’t jump on the counter and try to sneak it.  The other smells it but shows no interest, but it took him a while to even try cat treats.

Every time she hears the can opener she comes running.

We have a cat and a bunny.  Photo op:

The cat will not touch “people food.”  I have tried altering her diet to more of a raw diet and less commercial cat food.  Nothing.  She is the only cat I’ve ever had that has been this way.  The only thing she does eat is tuna if we get her a bite.  And she’ll steal the bunny’s lettuce or kale when we put it out for him.  Which is also strange.

Bunny will eat anything.  And everything.  Especially that which is not good or healthy or safe for him.  I swear it’s going to be the death of him.  Rabbit’s can’t vomit so I’m always afraid of that.

As I’m typing this Fiance just came out of the bedroom to let me know that the bunny has eaten our guest list. =_= Anyway.  So, yes, the cat does eat tuna, which is what this thread is about. Nod.  Yes.

Our cat loves it, and she’s about two years old.  She won’t eat kitty treats, (even fish flavored ones), but she LOVES people food like cheese, deli meat, etc.  It’s hilarious because Darling Husband and I will be eating dinner and she’ll jump up on one of the other chairs and peek over the edge of the table like, “Whatcha eatin’?  Can I have some?”  I need to get a picture of it.

The family cat that lives with my parents also loves it, (he’s 14).  All of our cats that have now passed loved it throughout their lives as well, (passed at ages 10, 13, and 17).  I’d try to make a tuna sandwhich for myself and I’d have little beggars by my feet hoping for a piece, (the dog also loves it, but he’ll eat anything edible).

They love it so much we started buying it in bulk from Costco. One of them is underweight so I try to feed him whatever and whenever he will eat….he loves tuna so much and it has been helping him eat a lot more often.

My cat loves any and all meat we occasionally give him, including tuna but ESPECIALLY turkey! Smile He is 7 years old.

Oh, that reminds me!  Our oldest cat was the same way.  He had hypothyroidism that was controlled with medication, but near the end of his life he started losing weight anyway.  He also didn’t seem as hungry, so we would often give him tuna to encourage him to eat.

You know, the cat we had when I was growing up LOVED tuna. Like, would come running from wherever she was when she heard the can opener running. She’d gobble it up. But the cat I have now is NOT interested. He does like to drink some of the tuna water. But he will leave the tuna in his dish and not eat it. I thought all cats loved tuna, but he has proved me wrong! And yet, this is the same cat who will eat cheddar and sour cream chips, guacamole, etc….weirdo.

Yup, my cat loves it too. He’s 6 and apparently can hear me open a can from wherever he is in the house.

Never given my cat tuna, but I have given her a bit of salmon juice and she liked that.

Every cat I’ve had, of every age, has loved tuna. Haven’t met IRL a cat that doesn’t like it.
