Yes, blue or purple . (faint, medium, or strong)

Yes, yellow. (faint, medium, or strong)

Yes, other color. (faint, medium, or strong)

    No

I don't know and it doesn't matter to me.

I don't know, but I would really like to know.

My gem is an awesome non-diamond stone.

    Extra other option.

A couple of the little stones in my halo do.  Two are super bright.  The center stone does not.

@Meowkers:  I’m really not sure about your message about florescent being a lower quality diamond.  My diamond is not a lower quality diamond.  The clarity in my diamond

    @ellabee:

I pulled out the fancy card that came with my ring and my Florescence is Strong Blue.  My ring is Near Colorless, Clarity Scale is VS2, cut is excellent .  So I wouldn’t consider my ring a lower quality diamond.  I’m very happy with my ring. Mine is blue according to the certificate, but I can’t tell by looking at it or comparing it to other diamonds.

@ellabee: I don’t own a black light, but if I did, I would share!  My little stones don’t glow under black lights tho.

One stone of my 3 stone ring does! I noticed it tanning, and actually took it back to the jeweler to make sure everything was okay!

Hmmm…. not sure if mine does, but I have never heard of fluorescence being a low quality thing.  I have a super rich friend whose ring was over $20k and her ring has strong fluorescence (I noticed it when we were at a club for a bachelorette party) and if her ring is low quality than her husband got majorly ripped off!

No flourescence in mine, that was something I did not want to have.

@maskelunass:  I didn’t say it was low quality.  I just said, all other things being equal, it’s not desirable.  Meaning if you had two identical diamonds but one had florescence to it and one did not, the one without would cost more.  No judgment here.  Just stating the facts.

Not that there is anything wrong with flourescent diamonds- I had seen one before that did flouresce, found out I could get one that was not that way, and decided that was what I wanted.

@Meowkers: You’re definitely right, but the murky/cloudiness would only be in really rare cases of very strong fluorescence. This article from pricescope explains it all pretty well.

Some people do consider fluor desirable, even if the industry as a whole doesn’t currently. I think it may make a comeback though, personally. Brian Gavin has a new “signature” line of “blue” (fluorescent) stones that are selling pretty well.

edit: LOL I literally misspelled the word THREE times in this post. Anyone else? haha!

I’m pretty sure mine does.  Sometimes in super bright sunlight it will have a little bit of a blue glow to it.  I will have to go to the tanning salon and see for sure 🙂

@Corykru: Aw thanks! I’m so glad to hear that! Really I’m just a huge nerd that spends WAY too much time on pricescope LOL! I actually gave it up for lent… it was becoming an addiction! So for now, I stalk the rings board to get my fix…haha. 🙂
