Does your dress match your venue? Does it stand on its own? Is one or the other super modern, or rustic, or…? I’m just curious to see how two very important wedding day components compare to each other! 🙂
I think my dress is in the same vein as my venue, but not super matched up. My dress is natural raw silk, and our venue is an apple orchard!

Haha thats funny, I was just having a disagreement with my mother about this the other day. I said I’m keeping my eye out for dresses because I’m not planning on paying a lot for a dress for one day, so if I see one I like in my price range I’m going to snatch it up even though we don’t have an official date or venue yet. My mother told me I need to wait to make sure my dress matches up with the venue. I told her we know we are not getting married in a church or on a beach, we are likely getting married outside either with trees all around or by a lake or with a view of the mountains-that doesn’t give a whole lot a variece for what my dress should look like. Plus, the style of dresses I like aren’t too over-the-top ballroom type dresses anyway, and I’m picky enough as it is, if I find a dress I like for the price I like I’m not going to stress over if it “matches” the venue.

i bought my dress before i even signed a contract. I figured with my Fiance being in the military i would need a dress just incase we had to marry sooner.

I actually bought my dress before we even saw our venue, but it’s funny how it worked out! I think it’s important to get the dress you want, no matter the other details!

The thing that is holding us back right now is the instability at our jobs is preventing us from securing a date. I’m try to get it all kind of planned in my head and start collecting what pieces I can so when things settle into place I can jump on the planning and if need be do it in s shorter period of time.

- Wedding: Disneyland - January 2016
We’ve already picked our date, our venue AND put down a deposit, but it finally occurred to me just the other day how strange it was for us to do all this without actually seeing the venue in person first. Oops. It sort of just happened. We saw the photos, and fell in love, and as both these are offered specifically by Disney weddings we pretty much assumed that they knew what they were doing and would have all the comfortable necessities available for guests. Thankfully we’ll actually be visiting in less than a month so we can be sure to get everything squared away, but I have faith everything like bathrooms and wheelchair accessability won’t be a problem.
Here’s where the ceremony will be held:
And here’s where the reception will be after:
Anyway, I already bought my dress so needless to say I sort of went into that without knowing exactly how well they match. But I ended up with this:
And seeing as this is a Disney wedding and going by the photos, I have a pretty good feeling it’s all gonna fit together pretty well 😉

I’m not really sure if it does lol. I think it fits a lot better than my first one did. This one is more breathable since the top is like a mesh. The beading kinda reminds me of seashells.

I thought that it was important to have a dress that went well with the venue but when I went dress shopping for the first time and told the salesperson that I wanted something more laidback, none of the dresses felt like “me.” I went to a second place and ended up with a fairly fancy beaded mermaid style. I don’t think it “matches” my lakeside venue but I love the venue and I love the dress. Now I think that’s all that matters!

- Wedding: Hawksnest Cove Beach St John USVI
I bought a tea length dress because I thought it would go better on a beach but I didn’t love it. I had also bought a halter dress with a tiny train because I loved it online at the same time (I got a killer deal on both so it wasn’t a big deal). I went with the halter dress. I didn’t care about the venue, I wanted to feel happy and beautiful on ky wedding day!!

- Wedding: August 2015 - Carmen\'s Lakeview
I honestly don’t know if my venue matches my dress. Our wedding is in a ballroom on a lake so we have a classy, beachy theme.
this is my dress:
this is my venue:

Our wedding was in the backyard of our home. I usually think of simple dress styles when I think of backyard weddings. But, I chose a very formal lace gown with a chapel-length train. I’ll be the first to admit that it was not very practical for the ceremony – I knocked over some decor with my dress while walking down the aisle and ended up getting pine straw stuck in the bottom of the dress. I have no regrets, though. That was my dream dress and I wasn’t going to let my venue stand in the way of wearing it.

I think my dress can be in any venue. From formal ballrooms to the beaches of Hawaii or shabby chic garden to mod swanky hotel to – city style – lakeside country clubs or farm hoedown. I can see it beautifully swirling in any location.
Lol. I love my dress!
I would only remove the flower at the waist.

Idk if my dress matches our venue. I think I picked my dress before I even had a venue booked. We knew we wanted our anniversary date and it is a Thursday this year. If we have waited until 2016 it would have been a Sat and our date prob would have been booked by than. So I just went with how the weather would be like on our wedding date. Our wedding is the first week of July so it will be hot. I went with flowy and simple. Our wedding is located in a boardroom in a inn. So I hope it fits if not oh well.

I do not think my matches! I’m getting married on the beach and typically, I see lace and flowy dresses…..NOT ME! This was my one day to get everything I’ve ever wanted and have my dream wedding..whether I look like I’m going to a black tie event or not… 😉
