Yes, you should opt for something more appropriate to the venue.

Depends on how you theme/decorate the venue.

Nope, you can wear whatever you want! Rules like that don't really apply to today's bride.

I’m usually really good about reading the previous comments, but I admittedly am slacking today.

Anyway, I think a bride can wear whatever they want, regardless of the venue for the most part. The only time I think it’s a little different is if you were to have a wedding on the beach in the sand…then a full ballgown or something like that might seem a little out of place and probably inconvenient. Other than that, I think it’s really all about what you like!

My dress was the first thing I bought for our wedding. It is a very classic lace A-line gown. I am getting married at a church. That much makes sense. But we just decided yesterday that our reception is going to be in a private room at an Irish pub. I might be a little overdressed. My fiance doesn’t seem to think this is problem.

Get what you want! I really think that people only notice it when it is extreme i.e. a beach wedding with a huge blinged out ballgown. But, hey, if the bride wants a beach wedding with a huge blinged out ballgown, then that is her perogative. I will admit though I had this concern in the back of my mind when dress shopping but everybody, including the consultant, told me that it does not matter at all.

I don’t know if mine “matches” the venue or not but I don’t care haha. I just can’t wait to wear it!!

    Here is my venue:

    And this is my dress:
