No..I  never tell my daughter she is going overboard..I’m always the ‘what about this” Mom.  I am proud that I truly beiieve she gets to make all the decisions but she welcomes my ideas and input.

Any chance you can get your Mom more involved?  SHe’ll probably have a blast and the two of you will have great times.

I get told that sometimes I’m trying to go overboard, but it’s good, because I do overextend myself. I need someone telling me that sleep is okay. 🙂

My Mom doesn’t say it out loud, but I know she thinks it. I’m an encore bride and I think she thought the first time was overboard, so now she really thinks it’s a lot. My parents were married by a Justice of the Peace with only their 2 witnesses and they don’t even have any photos of it. My Mom is also the type that never spends $$ on anything – she’s always searching for the deal, no matter what. Maybe if you think about how your parents married and maybe how times have changed with weddings, you can at least understand her point of view. The Moms usually come around as the date approaches. It is contagious, you know? This board is a prime example of that!

Good luck!

My mother is asian. Of course she thinks I am going overboard! lol. When I pulled out her financial calculator and told her her $400 dress in 1982 would really translate into $1500 in todays money, she told me not to be smart ass. *shrug*

She is getting a little excited despite herself I think. I see her sneakily reading bridal magazines. Dad however cannot be arsed. I think he is in severe denial. He didn’t want to see my engagement pictures (and they were amazing btw), he doesn’t think I need jewelry. sigh.
