I gave him a small idea of what it looked like (I just said short and not too fancy) b/c he needed to know how he should dress, and how casual the rest of the wedding was going to be. I also liked to tell him little lies to throw him off, like if we saw a dress with puffy sleeves I’d say that mine was like that, or I’d tell him it was hot pink (pink’s my favorite color), and he never knew if he should believe me or not so he’d always say good things.

My fiance was the one who laced it up for the first time. 😡 A lot of people think it’s weird, but he’s my best friend, and I wanted to share that moment with him.

Um… he may have opened up my laptop and found a giant pic of me in the dress that I accidentally left up a few days ago… but he yelled AH! and quickly averted his eyes.  He says all he saw was me in a white dress, nothing specific.  So, he basically knows I got an A-line rather than say, a mermaid sillouette.  But he doesn’t know much about W-dresses so it wasn’t a great surprise or anything… he probably thinks they’re all that shape.

I sent mine pics of the dress after I bought it but he has no pics of me in the dress and he couldn’t even tell you now what it looks like.

No. He was looking over my shoulder once when I was scrolling through a thread on here about favorite Spring 2011 dresses and someone had actually posted mine and he pointed to it and said he liked it, but he does not know that one is actually my dress and I didn’t tell him that one was my dress. All he knows is it’s ivory.

My Fiance is CONVINCED that I bought Adorae.  When I said no, he thought there was a possibility I bought Maggie Sottero’s Kendra.  The dress I actually purchased, he just hated on the model, but I did in passing sneak in photos of a real bride in my dress and he just thought it was beautiful.  He still doesn’t know that I bought an Anjolique gown though! 🙂  I’ll let him continue thinking that Adorae and Kendra are my dresses!

My Fiance has forbidden any talk of dresses.  The first day I went dress shopping, my Maid/Matron of Honor came over afterwards.  She handed him a dress book (that contained a dress I really liked) and said, “Comment on all of these dresses.”  Bad bad bad idea on her part, but she’s never been one for strong social graces.

Long story short, Fiance commented on the one I liked and was thinking about buying by saying, “That looks like a dead chicken with feathers everywhere” (It was AA’s Disney Sleeping Beauty dress).  He then saw my face fall, felt absolutely horrible, and has refused to even discuss dresses from that point on.  He won’t even stay in the room with me when I’m watching SYTTD.

He came shopping with me. He has seen me squeeze into all the different dresses, but he will not see me when my actual dress (that fits) arrives. So he knows what dress it is and he has an idea of what it might look like on me… but he won’t see the completed look until our ‘first look’ pictures before the wedding.

Fiance went dress shopping with me once, and although he wasn’t there when I found my dress, I showed him the pictures of me in it from that day. And he bought my veil for me, so he knows what it looks like. But he hasn’t seen me in the dress in person, nor has he seen any of the pictures from the fittings, so I think he’ll still be pleasantly surprised to see the whole ensemble.

I love dressing up for my Fiance and wearing things that I know he likes, so it was important for me to have his feedback during the dress shopping process. Of course, I was going to get a dress that I loved…but I knew I could find my dream dress and it be his dream dress for me too, if that makes any sense.

Yes. I tell my Fiance everything. I know this is not traditional at all but he has even seen pictures of me in it. With something so exciting in my life, it was just natural for me to share it with my best friend.. expecially because he was so excited as well ! I am glad he has seen it… when I tried it on in the salon I sent him a pic.. and his words were ‘wow…I could just marry you right now.. thats the one’. SO it was special to both of us 🙂

My Fiance knows nothing about my dress.. except that its heavy because he carried it to the car.. haha. I like to tease him by pointing out completely hideous things in magazines and asking him his opinion.. because he is always really careful not to say anything negative incase it’s something similar to what I picked out.. even if its godawful. We watch a lot of say yes to the dress together.. and I always LOVE the mermaid dresses on it.. so I think he’s going to be suprised when I walk down the aisle with the dress I have 🙂

I am SO worried about what my Fiance will think about my dress!!! I haven’t purchased it yet, but dresses that I loved, he told me weren’t “sexy enough.” His opinion is the only one I care about and I want to be his hot bride. ughhhhh
