I like some “alternative” men’s wedding band styles, but for the most part, I prefer the traditional look. Like, I think the black tungsten/titanium rings are cool, but I feel like every man has one now. When I see younger guys wearing a wedding band, it’s almost always that gunmetal color. My Fiance has told me that he wants a plain white gold band, and that’s what he’ll get! Either that, or cobalt chrome. As long as it’s durable and white.

@Ms.Sugarsnap:  I think it’s cool that you can incorporate his personality into his wedding band. That makes it even more special. My e-ring is white gold too and it does have some scratches on the underside, so I probably will go with a more durable white metal for him, because he’ll be way harder on his ring than I am on mine, for sure!

Fiance is a car guy, fast cars are made with carbon fibre, his ring will too be made of carbon fibre 🙂

@vmec:  That’s a really cool idea! The finish on that ring almost makes it look like a tire, too!

We went alternative with a traditional metal. My husband’s ring has my figerprint imprinted onto the outside of it, but it is palladium. I’m not a fan of the non-traditional metals – I think they tend to look pretty cheaply made. And though they aren’t flimsy, for some reason they look it to me.

Fiance and me both like the nontraditional metals, but many of them can’t be size-adjusted down the road, so he’s probably going to go a traditional route just in case.

My Darling Husband liked some of the alternative wedding bands these days, but my concern was that 30 years from now he’d look at his no longer trendy ring and wonder why he picked it. So after a long, long, long battle, we custom made a unique ring that is sitll classic looking.

My Fi wants to get a pretty basic looking ring in Titanium.  He doesn’t want to spend a lot on his ring just in case he gets it stuck in a machine or something (he’s an engineer).  I’m fine with this for him.  The metal is a dark grey with a black band running down the center, so it is very much his style.

My Darling Husband has a tungsten band. Hes the only guy out of our entire familyfriends that has a black wedding band. He is such a guy (really manly) and not into jewelry AT ALL so he wanted something a little different. Its totally him!

I like all wedding bands though; it doesnt really matter to me if they are traditional or not lol

My husband’s is tungsten & he loves it! He wears it to work everyday & has lifted weights in it, no scratches!

We don’t mind if other people have them or if its the “in” thing. He loves it & that is all that matters. He didn’t want gold due to scratching while wearing it at work & he really wanted to be able to wear it to work.

He also likes diamonds, ect. He recently bought me a diamond channel set anniversary band so I am thinking of buying him a matching one to wear when he wants! More than likely on date nights, family events, ect. Def not to work!

@Balboa:  That “junk” ring is super cool looking! I would love to see that in person.

My Fiance is not too creative in the ring department–he just chose a plain, comfort fit platinum ring. I love to see all these unique options!
