@asianyoushi: I loved everything about my florist EXCEPT communication. She came over our house for the first meeting. I didn’t hear from her for months. I was REALLY worried. But, I found her on wedding wire and there were so many great reviews about her. A couple of reviews even said that she doesnt respond for long periods.
Darling Husband was getting worried, too. But for some reason I had a good feeling. I found that the only way should would respond in a somewhat timely manner is if I put a high priority on the email (you know the orange exclamation point).
I would always say “I haven’t heard from you..”. In the end, I was so impressed by her work. She was so professional in all other aspects, that it made up for her lack of response.
Why don’t you look up reviews and see if people wrote the same thing? I went with my florist because she understood my vision to a tee and she gave me centerpieces for 30 tables, 7 bouquets, 9 bouts, escort card display for $1800. It was worth it in the end.
Hope this helps!

On average it takes me 24 hours to get back. (I do read all emails right away tho.)
Sometimes I do have to admit with those busy weeks it might take me few days.
Months is a little worryingsome. I would say if that happens call her to followup. 🙂

Urgh isn’t it frustating!! My florist is a sweetheart but a NIGHTMARE at getting back to me, she often gets back to me weeks later saying sorry I had a funeral or a wedding ect then i feel bad for getting moody, but like my mum keeps telling me my wedding isn’t her priority (yet!) I had an inital meeting a year ago, a budget meeting 5 months ago and then I have my final meeting a month before the wedding when i’m SURE I will get her full attention. If you like her work I say stick with it, I think my florist thinks i’m a complete control freak but as long as I get beautiful flowers i don’t really care! x

engaged in august. i think we booked this florist by october- had first meeting september( went to 7 florists for price and style interviews) had a meeting at church so she could see what would work in our space in november and then its been all quiet on the floral front..its making me really nerovus. my moh says i should just wait to call..
my reception hall manager gets back to me within 12 hours of email or call–i think she curses her email when she logs in and see something from me.lol

My florist takes a few emails to get back to me. Usually I send her one, wait a week, send another, wait a few days, send another, and then I hear back. I’ve kind of noticed that’s how it went with the other florists I contacted as well. But our florist does great work, had good reviews, good prices, she just doesn’t email very quickly.

mine didn’t and I fired her. Communication is my first requirement and is written into contracts. I expect replys no later than 24hrs and I hold them to it.
