This is kind of normal in moissy.  It is because they are cut shallow, then the culet reflects through the stone. Not all moissy has it though.

When I first got my ring, I wondered if it was an OEC because I know the cutlets are quite large with those, and didn’t expect a visible cutlet in the FB. It did stick out to me at first, but now I’m used to it and not bothered by it. I notice that when I look at my ring straight-on, it vanishes. It’s when it’s very slightly off the vertical that I notice it the most… and let’s be honest, very rarely does a ring sit perfectly vertical all the time. As I researched more about the differences between diamond and moissanite cuts, and not just Round Brilliant vs OEC, I realized it’s pretty characteristic of a moissanite.
So while at first, I did notice it quite a bit, it’s never on my mind anymore.

lucialucentum:  Same thing! Noticed it first and only because of people saying they noticed it on their ring here.

Cant see it most of the time tho. Seems to be a common thing OP.

Sometimes I think I see it (a tiny pinprick of black) but sometimes I wonder if I am just imagining it from a shadow or reflection of the dark clothes I prefer or my dark desk.  The only angle I tihnk I see it from is when my hand is held straight up and down (like admiring my ring) and then tilting my fingertips towards me so that the ring is sort of pointed at my boobs.  Below are two different angles of my ring (had it almost 3 weeks)  Remember, I am sitting at an almost black desk and wearing a dark grey tank top.  The darker pic is me trying to hold my hand in the position to make the ring look dark but it looks different on the phone than to my naked eye.

futuremrsvande:  Hey, OP, I found the spot on my F1! Could be the way mine is set that minimizes it’s appearance in many areas. This was taken under the florescent lights in my office.

futuremrsvande:  I know this is kinda stupid, but were you wearing a dark shirt? I was freaking out when I first got mine set because I had a REALLY visible dark center. I posted on here, sent them an email, etc… and then the next day I put on a light shirt and it wasn’t there anymore. Lol. I kept the stone and I honestly never notice mine anymore

The cut is poor. This is pretty common in C&C moissanites, they are not cut very well. I would send it back and ask for a new one without the spot. Hopefully they will hand pick one for you. This is a problem with moissanite; you don’t get to pick your stone. You order, they grab one from the pile, set it and send it along. With diamonds you pick your individual stone, so you know more of what you are getting. You could also wait for an Amora Gem, which are supposedly cut better, but they have chronic supply problems, so you may wait for a long time.
