Absolutely! I wore a ball gown because it made me feel like the ballerina I used to be … and since I felt like such a ballerina, I wore my hair in a ballerina bun complete with hair net, bun cage, and tiara Smile

You don’t HAVE to do anything and you can wear your hair however you want, though. Ball gowns look just as good with other hairstyles!

It definitely did for me! I also wore a ballgown, and felt like it sort of “demanded” an updo! It just matched the formality level of my dress so to speak. That said, I’ve seen others choose different hairstyles and they look beautiful with whatever dress they choose, but I did consider my dress.

Yep, mine did.  I had a vintage 50s dress that had a collar, so I knew I wanted my hair up.  I also wanted something with a bit more vintage flare instead of a low bun or something popular during current time, in order for it to sort of match the time period of the dress.  Here are some pics!

Yup!!! I have a lacy vintage-feeling dress and I wanted the same feel for my hair.  This is my inspiration pic I’m giving my stylist: (The one on the right)

@Brideonabudgetlauren:  Thanks!  It wasn’t exactly like the picture, but I still loved how it turned out.  I’m sure your hair will look great!  I can’t wait to see pics of it next month!

My dress definitely decided my hairstyle! I have a completely backless dress so wanted my hair up to show off this detail (my hair goes down to my lower back/beginning of bum). Here’s my inspirations pic, but will alter just a smidge…

Sure does!  I always equate updo with a formal affair, but they have much softer styles now if you want something less stiff.

Im at a crossroads tho.  I ALWAYS have my hair down and with the back of my dress keeping it down seems like a travesty.  I have no idea what to do =/

Well my dress is a one shoulder dress so that def is factored into how I wear my hair.  Doing a side ponytail to opposite side of shoulder.

Nope! I know what styles work for my hair and what doesn’t. So common sense will be dictating my style. However I do sometimes get distracted if the model picture of the dress has hair down, but I want my hair up. As lovely as it looks I know my hair would be a limp tangled lump at the end of the night if I left it down like that.
