I have long hair for the first time in a decade and I don’t know if it’s just that it’s longer that I notice it more or what but everytime I wash it I end up having handfuls of loose hair. It’s driving me crazy! I went to the hairdresser last week and she didn’t mention it but I’m just wondering if other people have this problem or whether I’m a weirdo for moulting like a dog!

I have middle of back length, thick, black, “indian” hair and my hair falls out in clumps. I need to clean my hair brush every morning after brushing my hair and I have to clean out the shower whenever I wash my hair…
FI gets really irritated cos he finds my hair everywhere!
I’ve recently started using a hair, skin and nails multivit so I will see if that helps at all. Whenever I go to the hairdresser they normally mention how healthy my hair is so I haven’t been too worried. I also don’t really want to mention it because I’m pretty sure that they will try to sell me some kind of expensive product that I don’t really need.

Yep! Not an alarming amount, but a lot. My hair is everywhere, haha.

Not really. I get hair in my comb (mostly due to tearing it out because my hair tangles easily) and an occasional random strand here and there.
If your hair is falling out more than normal for you, I’d mention it to your doctor. It could be an indication of something, maybe just a change in your diet that your body doesn’t like.

i had short hair for a very long time, then grew my hair out. i noticed in the shower what seemed like a lot of hair. next time i had i hair cut, i asked the hairdresser about it.
she said the average person loses 100 strands a day and you are noticing it more because your hair is long.
don’t worry about it!

@Snowden: Have you been keeping your hair up? Normally everyone loses hair throughout the day but if you have your hair up all those strands that you would lose during the day come out at night or in the morning.
If you think it is a serious problem though, I’d make an appointment with a dr. just to be on the safe side. Sometimes hair loss is caused my hormonal imbalances.

I have to literally sweep the tiles in my bathroom every morning, after I’ve brushed my hair.

Often. it’s normal and noticable with longer hair.

@Snowden: Ermagherd! I am lol’ing at this post. In the shower this morning, I covered the ENTIRE wall with hair. Granted, I hadn’t washed it in 3 days, but I’m blaming it more on the fact that the wedding is 9 days away than that.

Yes everywhere when I had longer hair now that its shorter not much.

i do, only ever since my hair got long (belly button length)

My hair used to fall out more when I brushed it, so now I don’t do that. I just wash it and let it air dry, then run my fingers through it. I think it’s normal for people to lose a few strands of hair a day though.

Yep, I have a plastic thing in the drain to catch the hair because without it over time the drain gets plugged up and drives DH nuts.
