My husband is military and falls asleep at the drop of a hat. I don’t really have much on my mind when I go to bed, I just can’t fall asleep quickly unless I am super tired.

I’m envious of his ability to just… stop.

@VictorianLilac718:  Lol I can relate. Instead of getting up to watch TV, though, I usually stay in bed until I have to pee… then debate peeing for like 15 minutes until I either nod off (only to wake up like 2 hrs later) or get up and go to the bathroom. *Sigh*

YES he does, it takes me about half an hour to an hour to fall asleep (I don’t get up out of bed and do stuff though LoL, just laying in bed), it takes him about 3 minutes to go limp, 5 minutes to start twitching, then in about 10 minutes the snoring starts hehe.

@VictorianLilac718:  Oh yeah. We get up waaaaaaaaay early every weekday (and sometimes weekends, which sucks), so I don’t mind him getting a quick, deep sleep. I’m just super envious of it!

YES!  Well, technically Fiance but still.  With him, it’s like, lays down, shuffles till he finds a comfy spot, asleep.  Like 2 minutes.  Then I have to listen to him snore for the 2+ hours it takes me to go to sleep.

So not fair. He and my cat fall asleep the instant their eyes shut. 🙁

yes, he does and so do i.

@VictorianLilac718:  go to bed only when you get tired.  don’t look at the clock because it might stress you out more.  when there’s a lot of stuff on my mind and i can’t sleep, i focus on one nice thought to keep my mind from going off on tangents.  i will think about a fantasy home and how i would design the kitchen or something silly like that.  it’s so calming, i never get to finish my imaginary kitchen.  it’s like the adult version of counting sheep.  i’ve done it for years and it’s always works for me.

good luck and sweet dreams.

Your first two parts about “What going to bed is like to me” and “Thinks” is right on the money! Too funny. I wish I could fall asleep that quickly. Writing down what I need to do or what I’m thinking of as I’m tossing and turning backfires because then I get more amped up thinking about everything that needs to get done and worrying that I won’t have enough time to do it all. Nice to know others have similar issues!
