Yeah. He actually does more than I do, and he does most of the cooking (although that’s because he’s picky and wants to do it exact his way – but I’m not complaining).

If I ask him he will go clean crazy, but he never does without me hinting or asking! Makes me feel like a nag! 🙂 we do take turns doing dishes- if I cook he cleans, if he cooks I clean. (And we’re about 50/50 there!)

He pretty much takes care of the cleaning, for the most part.  I do the cooking, and I’ve taken over the dishwasher (though he sometimes does it).  We both do our own laundry.  But general things like sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, etc?  He does those.  I can’t handle a vacuum cleaner.  They hurt my ears.  I have to actually leave the house when he vacuums if I’m home.  It’s too painful.  (I also can’t listen to a lot of music, and have to wear earplugs to go to bars/other public venues.)

No.  Once in a while if we’re having company and I’m running behind on things I might ask him to run the vacuum or clean a toilet and he will but otherwise I do the cleaning. He takes out garbage, shovels snow, blows deck.  He also tends to clear dishes & do some after dinner kitchen tidying when we have company.  I think he wants to give me a break to relax and chat with guests after all the work I’ve done to host, which is really sweet of him and appreciated.

All the time. We don’t consciously split or delegate chores but he does everything I do without me having to ask. We both had our own apartments without roommates prior to moving in together so maybe that has something to do with it.

He will do dishes/empty the dishwasher occasionally unprompted. He will vacuum/clean up certain rooms, if I ask (sometimes a few times). Mostly I just handle the cleaning though because I don’t really like the way he does it lol. He also works a ridiculous amount of hours and all sorts of shifts most weeks, so I am usually home more often than he is, so I’d rather get things cleaned up myself than look at a messy room.

Fiance does all of the cleaning/dishes/trash. I do all the meal planning and most of the cooking. Sometimes he will go to the store for me if I don’t feel like it. He’s very considerate and likes to keep things tidy.

Nope! And I’m good with that! He cleans very badly, and I want it done the right way. He will clean when I ask him, I’m sick, or he makes a huge mess.

If I asked him to clean something he would probably look at me like I asked him to perform brain surgery.

I asked him to start the dishwasher ONCE and he put dawn in it. So, yeah. No. Never again.

He does, but we have different standards of “clean”…lol…I choose to pick my battles and quite frankly, I appreciate the help, so I am not going to say anything and seem ungrateful…for example – when he vacuums, he goes around things…such as the dog bed…lol…I pick things up and move them…I figure we can alternate – so what if not EVERYTHING gets vacuumed EVERY time…we also load the dishwasher differently…drives me nuts (I don’t know why it bothers me so much)…I don’t say anything – I would rather come downstairs to a dishwasher that is full of clean dishes, than a sink full of dirty ones!

That said – my fiance is AWESOME at things around the house that I suck at…he is incredibly handy and can fix anything…he is also an awesome, detailed painter – he has swapped out fixtures, taken down wallpaper that wasn’t put on properly, fixed woodwork, painted, renovated a bathroom, etc

Overall, I have it pretty good!

Honestly, he does most of the cleaning  I help him out but he often does it when I’m traveling with work.

We both switch off cleaning. Our house is so small that we can’t clean together at the same time without getting in each other’s way. I’ve told him though that once we move to a bigger place we’re hiring a maid. I HATE cleaning!

My husband does help me. I do most of the work, such as sweeping, wiping down counters, organizing, picking up laundry, doing laundry, getting the garbage ready) but he is on litterbox duty (I’m pregnant), he takes the garbage to the dumpster, and he carries the giant hamper for me. Sometimes if there’s more work to do, he’ll clean the bathroom and I’ll do the kitchen or something.

I do the majority of the house work as I’m a full-time student so I’m home most of the day, but he does help me a lot completely voluntarily.

He does most of it.  I am in charge of laundry and bathrooms.

Yes of course! He lives in our house too.. I wouldn’t stand for a partner who doesn’t pull their weight.
