Just wondering about ring sizes. Mine was originally a 5 1/2 and kept flying off so I got it sized to a 4 3/4. Now it leaves an impression all the way around my finger! When my hands are cold, no impression. It isn’t cutting off my circulation or anything, but I’m wondering if the size is too small. Thoughts? Also, if I get it sized to a 5, does a 1/4 size really make a huge difference?

My rings only leave an impression if I sleep in them or if I wear them when I’m working out. Other than that they fit snuggly but not enough to leave a mark. A 1/4 size will make a difference. My engagement ring is a 5 and my wedding band is a 5 1/4. It felt too tight when they were both a 5 but getting the extra 1/4 in the band made a big difference.

My ring only does when I am wearing my winter gloves. I wear a 5.25

I was a size 4.5 years ago when my bf gave me my promise ring. The ring is now a half size too small, so when I leave it on my right ring finger (where I used to wear it) it left an impression. I did not think it was a problem but one time in a jewelry store the woman at the counter said it was horrible for my ring to be that small. I haven’t gotten it resized yet, but I wear it on my pinky now.

All of my rings do that…even if they’re too big! I’m not really sure why. I wear a ring on my middle finger that is probably about 1 size too big (it stays in place, but just just barely) and even it leaves a mark. The only way it wouldn’t would be if I wore a ring wayyy too big and then it would probably fall off.

I just looked at mine, and I didn’t think that it would leave a mark, but when I looked at my finger without the ring on it, it did leave a bit of an impression. I know it is not too small for my finger because I had it sized a quarter size bigger than the jeweler suggested, just so it wouldn’t be too tight in the summer when my fingers tend to swell. I suggest that you do the same thing. Your ring shouldn’t leave an impression all the way around your finger. Mine is only on top, and yes 1/4 size does make a huge difference.

Mine does in the summer. I think I’m gonna get it sized up 1/4, or maybe even 1/2 to make sure the wedding band will fit on too 🙂

My ring leaves an impression all the way around my finger as well, but I know it isn’t to small because somtimes it comes off on it’s own, in my sleep, and then I have to look for it in the bed or on the floor next to the bed.

no, I’ve never seen any marks on my fingers from imprints. I also dont take them off to check, but still. they slide around a little but never at risk of coming off. they’re on the’re comfortably.

The funny thing is that my jeweler swears I’m a 4 1/2! I thought that was too tight so I got 4 3/4. My knuckles are the same size as the rest of my finger, so I think they thought it was too big because I could remove the ring with a tug instead of having to “walk it”. It makes my finger look like it has a bit of a muffin top, even though I have skinny little fingers!

yeah, when i take my rings off they leave marks. My ering is a size 5 and my band is a size 5.5. There is a gap between so it pushes up my ering higher on my finger where it’s “fatter.” It’s not uncomfortable at all though.

Your hands swell and then return to normal at different times throughout the day and depending on things like temperature and what your eat–when your hands are slightly swollen (it’s not noticeable) your ring can leave an impression. Even things like the way you hold your hands and whether you play with your ring a lot can cause an impression. As long as you can remove it relatively easily and it doesn’t cause you any discomfort then it’s fine.

All of my rings are like that, even one that is a tad big for my finger. Since I only take off my ring when I go to bed I don’t really worry about it too much. No one can really see it anyway 😀
