He likes to spoil me in general (doing all chores and cooking dinners during dead days and finals? yes, please!) However, when I’m sick I get kind of standoffish. I want my water bottle, my mug of tea and a blanket. That’s it. He tries, he really does, when I’m PMSing he’ll run out to get ice cream, even though he knows I’ll be whining in 2 hours when my body remembers it’s allergic.

He thankfully doesn’t get sick that often, mostly allergies (thank you Texas) so as long as he has tissues and decongestants he’s content.

Yup.  He took great care of me after surgery.  He did once not insist on getting me to the doc when I had bronchitis & I got really sick.  I should have been more assertive about that myself.

He brings me stuff, cooks, takes care of the dogs.  The worst was emptying my drains after a surgery.  Pretty gross.

If I’m sick in bed, he doesn’t hang out with me, but he does check on me & make sure I have what I need.

I’m struggling right now with a chronic pain condition & he’s being even more attentive than usual.  DH has always treated me well.  He understands how depressed & frustrated I feel, so he’s even more generous with hugs than usual.

@eloping:

That’s really the test, isn’t it?  Strip away all of the mushy stuff & this is the Real Deal.

No, that isn’t the real test. THIS IS: πŸ˜› Emberassing story time!

When I met my Fiance he came to visit me from another state I was having massive pain in my a** yes, a** little did I know it was a nasty little cyst beteween something.. tmi. Anyways, we went back to his hotel room and I was teaching him to “dance” and laughing because he can’t I grazed my hand on my lower back touched his face (it stunk and I didn’t know.) he gave me one of those looks your dogs gives you when he hears a weird noise.. still oblivious to the situation I sat down, it popped, litterally. STILL oblivious I complained to him about the smell and to call room service once we put two and two together I was livid! lol I went into the bathroom to see what I could do to  myself.. I’ve never ever had this before. I asked him to go downstairs and get me some hydrogyn peroxide, he came back with alchohol. You see I had mention my pain before, he mentioned it to his sister before he left and she said it was a cyst.. I didn’t think anything of it.. we ended up having to go my mom’s house (thought it was too early for them to meet my brother.. but it so happens he was over for dinner w/sil .. so that happend. My mother helped me, he took me to Walgreens to pick up some prescriptions for the pain…and 8 months later he asked me to be his wife.

To answer the question: Yes, he does, very much so and I’m bratty πŸ˜›

My husband is amazing when I’m sick. He makes sure I have juice, medicine, blankets, etc. He’s wonderful!! After my major surgery 6 weeks ago, he had to do everything for at least a week, as I could barely walk or do anything. He was amazing. He went and bought a mini fridge and hooked it up in our bedroom and stocked it with juice and snacks. Don’t know what I’d do without him. He’s the best! πŸ™‚

Normally Fiance is kind of a germophobe, but last week I had a stomach flu and he went out before work to get me Saltines and Sprite. If you knew how much he hates getting up early, it would seem sweeter. He’s always really helpful when I have a migraine, too.

He takes really good care of me when I am sick.  I don’t get sick very often, but he is really good at babying me – he’ll go out and buy me Sprite and gossip magazines πŸ™‚

Yes, but with reminders. He’s the sweetest man ever, but he’s *so* easily distracted. If I run to puke, he’ll follow and hold my hair– but if he’s reading or playing a game, he’s likely not to notice. He’ll also volunteer to get me drinks and such from the fridge, walk out there, and come back, ten minutes later with cheese or something for himself. Usually it makes me laugh, and he’ll go right back and grab it. Unless he forgets again…

I usually have to ask him to take basic care of me when I’m really sick (going to the store to buy me medication etc) and it irritates me. But he does it without hesitation, so I don’t have much to complain about.

He takes great care of me πŸ™‚  Usually my mom will come over with Gatorade and lots of homemade chicken noodle soup, but he’ll also run out and get me medicine and pretty much anything else I want/need.
