- Wedding: June 2012 - Franklin Plaza
I have been with Darling Husband for 8 years and have never seen him cry. He cried ONCE when he was on the phone with me — he was sitting in the car, at the vet’s office, right after he put his cat down. 🙁 By the time he got home he had dried his tears and had gotten it out of his system I guess because he didn’t cry again.
I have seen my dad cry twice. Once when his father died and then alllllll day on my wedding day. 😀 What a sap!

I have seen him cry only a few times in our 7 year relationship. Every time was after a really big fight. 🙁
I hate it when men cry.

really sad movies, weddings, once when we almost broke up. so yeah. i guess semi-frequently. but not compared to me. i’m a serious crier. i wish i weren’t…

I’ve never seem my SO cry. Apparently he was welled up at the wedding when I was walking down the aisle but I didnt’ see it! Stupid me, I was totally distracted by all the people I was walking by. Hopefully the photographer got a shot.
Anyway, I cry enough for the both of us. I sobbed- SOBBED – through our entire wedding ceremony. I’m the type of person who cries at a sentimental commercial.

Darling Husband does whether it is happy or sad, depending on the situation. We got our puppy this weekend and he kissed him on the head and said, “He’s our baby. I love him.” And he had tears filling in his eyes. It was adorable <3

In the 11+ years we’ve been together I’ve only seen him cry twice, and both were when he was on the floor drunk and mumbling gibberish. Not the best of moments lol. But I’ve never seen him cry while sober, not even at a funeral.

If we fight, he cries. If I’m sad, he cries for me.

I’ve never seen him cry, but I know of two occasions in our relationship where he did cry. Once while watching a movie by himself, and once when I broke up with him during the first year of our relationship. The second one still breaks my heart 6 years later. He told me about the movie; his mom told me about the break up.

I haven’t really seen him sad-cry, but he did well up when he proposed to me 🙂 no sobbing though lol. He says he’ll probably well up at our ceremony, so cute!! I hardly ever cry however. Unless I’m on a down swing with my mood. Unfortunately that happened ON my birthday (last Sunday) and I took offense to something totally stupid and laid in bed crying ALL day, leaving Fiance sitting there dumbfounded. I kept pushing him away but he kept coming back, until he left… To buy me flowers and bake me cookies 🙂 i calmed down after he left me alone for a while and picked up my book. We were able to talk after that. He is so devoted to me, I’m really lucky.
ETA: OH HE DID SAD CRY. At the beginning of Up. Yes. He had tears streaming down his face when the husband was left alone in the church at Ellie’s funeral, and he turned to me, mouth agape, and chokes out, “…WHAT?!”

Darling Husband gets red-eyed, but he wouldn’t cry. if he cries, it’s REALLY bad. I’ve seen him cry once.

I love how many of you say your men have cried at the movie Up! That’s adorable! I love a man who can cry. I see it as a sign of strength, that he’s comfortable enough with his emotions to express them. The only time my Fiance has cried hard, was when he proposed to me. It was beautiful. After I said yes, we just held each other and cried with happiness. Besides that, he will tear up here and there, over sad or touching movies, or news stories. Also over really happy things. He has a very gruff exterior, and I love that I’m the only one he allows to see this soft side of him. I had a bf once that would cry at the drop of a hat, over any little thing. It was so annoying. All things in moderation.

Ehh, we’re both pretty emotional (runs in our families, haha). If he’s really upset or sees a sad commercial/show/movie/etc. or just something emotional, he’ll tear up and sometimes cry. I do the same thing, though.
ETA: My ex NEVER cried until I broke up with him, but always told me that every time I cried it made my tears mean less. Douche.

Just out of curiosity, why do you hate it when men cry? I’m the opposite. It always makes me melt a little. 🙂

Ummm…WOW. You dodged a bullet with that one! Good riddance! >=[
