tonight I come home from the vets office with the dogs, and my wonderful Mr.V proclaims “dinner’s ready and I did the dishes” I was immediately relieved that I didn’t have to cook dinner, but worried about what lurked in that definition of “I did dishes” this is what I found
He wanted to sanitize my favorite cutting board… I had to break it into pieces to free it and the top rack from the inside of the dishwasher… Needless to say, Mr.V always fails at the dishes… Anyone else have a domestically challenged SO?

Haha, poor guy. And poor you–that was a nice cutting board!
Darling Husband is fantastic about helping me around the house. Really. The lists of things he does is a mile long.
But the thing he does that makes me crazy, is that he’ll just fill whatever he was eating off of with water and leave it in the sink.
So, last night, he ate fajita insides, with sour cream and cheese. He couldn’t finish it, so when I went to wash dishes this morning, there was this bowl of waterlogged slop waiting for me. I had to stick my hands in it.

@Quietserenity: I actually like when SO soaks his dishes! Makes it easier for me to wash off, rather than trying to scrape off dried gunk.
@HopingtobeeMrsV: Mine fails at cleaning the bathroom (by not ever doing it), but then again, so does every other man I know. Luckily for him, I happen to be awesome at it.

@somethingaquamarine: Soaking is good! Just scrape the leftover food into the trash first. We have no garbage disposal, and I don’t love fishing crap out of the sink.

Oh lord …. This is how I found the dishes put away one day … Sorry it’s sideways I’m on my phone!

It would be cooking and cleaning up afterwards. Seriously he uses all pans and silverware and doesn’t clean up or wipe up spills. It makes me stabby when he is in ktichen…

Mostly any house chore he half asses, but he is especially bad at dishes 🙁 lol. I don’t mind doing all the chores though:)

@Sassygrn: Does yours pretend he’s on a cooking show? Mine does. Every time he cooks every single one of my little bowls is dirty–you know, they pull salt and pepper out of bowls, put every ingredient in it’s own container?
Seriously, just use stuff out of the container I keep it in, you’re not on tv, no one is watching, and you’re just making more work for me.

Folding clothes. Anything he folds will have to either be ironed or go through the drier again and then be refolded.

@Quietserenity: LOL thank goodness more like he makes a mess of one bowl then has to to use another one and another one. Same with pans. Then of course the spills that he doesn’t wipe up.

Uhm… all of them! I guess his dish washing isn’t too bad. But boy, is he bad at dusting! He seriously misses SO MUCH. He just hits the main spots, but totally misses the entertainment center, the dresser, etc.

@Natalieh86: Do you live with Dr. Suess? That stacking!

@HopingtobeeMrsV: Hahahahhaha!!!! So funny!!! Mine wont even touch the dishes! I visited my parents for a week, I came back to find him drinking out of the pyrex measuring cups since everything else was dirty!!!

FH fails at throwing things away when he empties a container/package of whatever it is he just ate. This means that things like empty milk jugs, pickle containers, cereal boxes, and everything else, goes back into place instead of being thrown in the trash can that is two feet away.
