I voted “other” because I would dearly like something – not necessarily roses because they’re ridiculously expensive around Valentine’s day but just… a little gesture of appreciation, I guess? I don’t usually get anything though. My man, bless his rational heart, is useless when it comes to romantic gestures and thinks of Valentine’s day as February 14 🙂 I know he loves me and it’s not a big deal but flowers would be nice sometimes! Embarassed

We don’t really do Valentines Day. I wouldn’t complain if he got me something, but I don’t expect it.

I voted other-I don’t “not buy into the idea” of getting roses, but we typically don’t celebrate “Hallmark holidays”.

Sometimes he buys me chocolates a few days after Valentine’s Day because everything goes on super clearance, lol.

I love receiving flowers and having them in the house. I’m not opposed to roses, but they aren’t my favorite. I love daisys. My birthday is very close to v-day, so my husband has historically gotten me birthday flowers and they live through Valentines day so everyone is happy (and frugal :).

I dislike getting flowers as gifts. I can think of too many items I’d rather have that won’t go in the trash a few days later.

I voted “other”–While the price of roses go through the roof, the prices of cheaper flowers (Like Astrolomeria, one of my favorites) actually stay the same!
And while I would LOVE Darling Husband to be a flowers-and-chocolate on V-Day guy, he’s just not.

He sucks pretty bad at V-Day!

I would be happy with any kind of flower… but I don’t think Darling Husband believes in buying flowers.

I don’t care about flowers and find them to be a pretty pointless gift. I’d rather get something that won’t die after a couple days.

@renwoman:  I couldn’t vote, because flowers are not expected (FI never buys me flowers), but I really want them.  Although I would prefer them “just because” rather than for Valentine’s day

My husband is an auditor, so I don’t get to see him from January to the beginning on March, lol.   valentines day is a miss for us.

I think I got too many long stemmed roses in my young dating days, because I reached a point where I never wanted to receive one again.  So, my Fiance has never gotten me roses, and I usually only receive flowers on totally unexpected/random days.  I love having flowers just show up at my office as a surprise— even if they die a few days later.  It’s better than getting chocolates- which disappear a day later and then reappear on my thighs!!!

I’d love flowers, but it’s too expensive.

I have pretty bad allergies so my husband has never given me flowers.  If we want to show love to each other, we get each other chocolate/dessert.  🙂
