I would love to receive roses on Valentine’s Day because I’m a sap and I adore flowers – especially roses – however they’re insanely expensive and as much as I love them, they’ll be dead in a week.

SO usually gets me a gift (jewellery) and a single flower to curb my floral cravings.

Fiance never buys me flowers! But last valentines day he bought me a Kindle Fire so I can’t complain 😉

Nope, I don’t want stuff in the house that is going to make me sicker than I already am.

@Miss Circe:  I feel the same way about Valentine’s Day.  It will always be a stupid, annoying holiday to me.

Valentine’s Day is the day ofter my SO’s birthday, so there’s another reason not to celebrate; we’ll be celebrating his birthday instead.

I never expect flowers for valentines but it falls the day before our 6 month anniversary.  I don’t expect/want flowers ON valentines but I’d best be getting some reduced roses the next day!!

(To be fair, I’ll be lucky to get a v day card this year…Darling Husband asked if I wanted one in the supermarket yesterday…”its our first year as husband and wife…you decide if you should get me a card but if you don’t…on your head be it!” [this was in a jokey tone with a bit of laughter])

I don’t buy into ‘card shop holidays’ and would be annoyed if he wasted money on flowers on the most expensive day of the year…  v card or not we’ll be celebrating the 15th more anyway!

I would like flowers, but I’ve only gotten them once in the entirety of our relationship. I admit that it would be nice to have a dozen red roses delivered to me. SO thinks flowers are fairly stupid.

So you guys don’t think he’s some sort of jerk, I have to disclose that he does get me something. Generally a teddy bear. I have a whole collection of teddy bears telling me they love me. Some with dates on their feet. That’s cute and special in its own way.

But my “no” vote does not mean I don’t buy into flowers.
