You know, the traditional “gentlemanly” services – opening doors, pulling out chairs, helping you with your jacket, etc. Does he still do it? Did he only do it for a while? Did you not want him to do it at all?
FI’s never missed an opportunity to be chivalrous, but it’s something he believes really strongly in – and that totally melts my heart, because I’m a pretty traditional girl and because my love language is service. But my sister/MOH can’t stand it when guys do that for her! So what are your two cents?

He does it sometimes. He almost always opens doors for me. Most of the time, I prefer to do stuff myself, but I like when he surprises me with a random gentlemanly act.

Yep, he always have, even before we were dating, and still does. I think it’s adorable.

Absolutely… although I often “rig” the order in restaurants; I’ll get to the door and open it for him first so that he has to talk to the hostess (yah I’m weird). He also often switches sides with me when we’re walking on the sidewalk or along the road so that he is on the side of the street. That impresses me way more than opening doors because I never knew that was a thing until him!

@gangqinjia: Always. He’s a true gentleman. He doesn’t just do this for me, he opens doors for everyone.. man, woman, child. He’s just an all around good guy who was taught some manners.
I really don’t understand women who get mad when people are courteous. It just blows my mind. Everyone knows that most people have the ability to open doors for themselves. It’s just a nice gesture.

NO! haha. I think he did on our first and second maybe third date. His true colors started showing shortly after that…. bahahah.

He always does. And I in turn reach over and unlock the driver’s side door of his truck after he lets me in. (No power locks ><)

He almost always does – unless it’s raining/snowing/etc., then he doesn’t, which is fine of course! 🙂 I think it’s sweet that he still does it for me. His mom and dad taught him well!

@elysion: My fiance ALWAYS switches sides so that he is closer to the street! I never knew it was a “thing” either until he did it!

Yes. He is so caring and thoughtful. Most days he will run my bath water. I do things for him too, but he treats me like a queen.
