I would find it weird not to tell him or have him tell me. We don’t just leave. I guess it’s just habit? Who knows.

That is pretty inconsiderate of him to not tell you he is leaving. Honeslty how hard is it to send you a quick text or yell through the front door that he is running into town for a minute. We also tellm each other if we are going somewhere, its just the right thing to do.

We don’t live together, but we always tell each other if we’re going somewhere and who we’ll be with. We’ve always done it. It’s mostly precautionary.

We always tell each other when we are leaving, unless MAYBE one of us is taking a nap and the other runs somewhere close and fast like the grocery store. But if DH just left and gave me no idea where he was going/when he would get back, I would be PO’ed.

We always let each other know if we’re leaving. Heck, even on the one or two occasions where we’ve had a fight and one of us leaves to cool off…we still let each other know!

We always tell each other when we’re leaving. Even if he’s just walking 3 houses down to where his best friend lives. It’s habit and it’s the nice thing to do… I would freak out if I thought he was just in the yard and couldn’t find him.

I voted other. If there’s something like a standing work or class we need to get to, when it first starts we let each other know the times and when we leave for those events its more of a “bye, gotta go” if we see each other because its assumed the other person knows how long that will take. We may not go out of the way to say goodbye if there’s a rush to get out the door.

If there’s something after these events that goes on longer than about a half hour, like drinks with co-workers, I’ll usually text him to let him know I’ll be late, and he does the same.

When there’s something unexpected, like what you described, we do say we’re leaving but we may not give how long unless we have plans together later.

We always tell each other, even if it’s just to take out the garbage. a quick “Hey, just headed out for a second, be right back” is sufficient. He should be telling you when he leaves.

We tell each other always, but my mom and my step dad don’t always. Well, my stepdad doesn’t always, but my mom does. She doesn’t seem to mind all the time, but sometimes it really annoys her. Maybe it’s a guy thing and they need to feel like they have the freedom and don’t have to report to anyone. I think that it’s weird that they do that, but it works for them!

He can’t leave without a kiss, so I do know if he leaves…

Always tell eachother where we’re going.  Always always if we’re both home and even most of the time if the other is also out if we’re doing something “risky”.  Like dh at work and I plan to go out running on a local trail.  I just think its always good to have somebody know where you’re going and when you plan to return.
