Yes, he always tells me when he’s leaving. Why don’t you talk to your DH and tell him why it’s unsafe for him to leave without notifying you? He may think telling you is like asking permission, but if you explain the practical reasons he might come around.

Voted yes – always. If once of us is napping we leave a note on the table.

My dad does it to my mom all the time, and it drives ME up the wall because I worry about where he is at his age.

Yeah my dh used to leave (only very occasionally) while I wassleeping. Now he wakes me up totell me he’s leaving and I wish he wouldn’t hahaha. But other than that I pretty much know what he’s doing. Now, since he started a new semester of law school I’vebeen calling to see what time he get home. Thursday he called me to tell me before I called him.

We don’t live together so we don’t really keep tabs on eachother. I don’t feel the need to know whenever he goes to home depot or mcdonalds and that he doesnt need to know when I bring my kid to school or if I’m going out with friends- I’ll tell him about it later if there was anything to chat about.
At home, I also prefer to be anle to just walk out the door if I feel like it. But with my dad, I know he’ll get bummed out if I don’t tell him I’m leaving if hes not present by the door to say ‘bye’ to, so I’ll go find him to say bye. My mom though, if shes not around for me to say bye to she knows I’m always in a hurry to get out the door (I have a tendency to run late :(! ).
I imagine that in the future however, SO and I will expect to know when the other is leaving and get a ‘bye love ya!’

My DH usually lets me know where he is going. If he is not at home, he will send me a text letting me know what he is up to. I am less diligent. If I am running errands or something I will not bother sending him a note until I am on my way home.

We always let each other know where we’ll be, it’s just a courtesy thing IMO.

My Fiance always lets me know where he is going, and the same goes for me. I’ld be so annoyed if that was not the case. I think that is common courtesy to anyone and the least your SO.

The only time DH would leave without telling me is if I was asleep and he didn’t want to wake me.
Otherwise, he always lets me know.

@happyface: this! We never say goodbye without a smooch (or 10) so I can’t imagine him actually leaving without telling me. He does sometimes work outside the house on the weekends at crazy hours like 6am when I am still passed out but he almost always remembers to tell me the night before so I don’t wake up and wonder where he is.

Now, yes; when we first got together, no. Once we started living together, we started informing each other more and more about such things.

He always tells me where he is going, even if it is just to put gas in the car.
I don’t always tell him where I am going, oops! If I forget he usually texts me to find out.
