Well our trim is painted white, but none of our walls are white.  I think it looks good to have your trim a different color than your wall.  I’ve never seen trim painted black though.

Our trim throughout the house is white & the walls are all different colors. My FI’s home was built in the 50’s & has these HUGE baseboards and beautiful moldings… it just adds so much character to the home. I actually thought it was the norm to have the wall & trim different colors!

I don’t like it when the trim and walls are the same colour either!

However, black trim is a little different!

My trim is white and the walls are taupe but I am a big fan of neutrals!

Honestly I think the only time the trim and walls matching looks good is when its all white.

I love black accents, black cabinets, and black furniture. I’ve never seen black trim anywhere. Trim should be a different color however, Usually, I find a bright white looks the best.

our walls are a creamy coffee colour with white baseboards and crown molding…I think it might look strange with the same colour wall and baseboards, but I’m sure it could work in some cases!

The first house I fell in love with way back then had black trims and dark wooden accents. I thought it looked great!

Oh I really like the look in those pics… much better than what I was picturing in my head!  I’d never seen someone with black trim before.

@serabell Not our house, but it was the first house I fell in love with.  It was one of those places that looked absolutely perfect online – complete with a lake view! But in reality, there was a huge house being built in back of it, completely obstructing the view and it was located on a main street. A chef owed it and the kitcen was really nice! But I think they ended up not selling since they kept changing their minds and upping the price. Regardless, it would have been way over our budget anyway! But a place I will always remember because it really got me hoping!

I can’t wait to see your pics!

Our trim is white and the walls are tan.  I like how everything goes with it and it looks fresh and clean and open.

All of our trim is white and all of our walls are varying shades of earth tones.
