Our venue is allowing us to bring in our own alcohol with no corkage fee (score!). We are anticipating about 200 guests, with 175 or so old enough to drink. We have to pay for 2 bartenders and that will serve the booze we bring in.The venue is supplying all of the sodas, mixers and garnishes for the bar.
If you were able to bring in your own alcohol, how much did you buy and how many guests did you have?
I’ve found some websites that calculate how much you should have on hand, but I’m curious to see what others have experienced. We are thinking we will be purchasing our alcohol from Costco, Bev Mo or local wineries.

We did buy our own.
We googled ‘drink calculator’ and I think we used Martha Stewart’s online version – you type in the number of guests and it spits out how much beer, wine, and various liquors you need. We customized it a bit (added gin, subtracted some rum) and did a bunch of different types of beer.
I don’t know where you live, but we’re in MA and the boys went up to the New Husband state liquor store. We spent $1,000-ish all together, and had a few bottles of liquor left (1 full rum, 1 full whiskey, a few gins, and some Heinekin and Bud Lights), but her calculator was pretty much spot on.
We would have gone to Costco if we weren’t so close to a state with discount, tax free liquor stores!

@futuremrsfitz18: Thanks for the feedback! How many guests did you have? I have $1,000 budgeted for the alcohol. I’ll check out Martha Stewart’s calculator!
