white white is usually a pretty harsh & unflattering color. I don’t know of many regions that still adhere to the virgin white wedding dress thing anymore, and have always considered anything in the realm of white to be ‘white’.

I definitely doesn’t have to be white!  My dress was ivory, and while I loved it I almost wish I had looked at other options like blush, champagne, or even icy blue!  Just because you’re not in doesn’t mean you won’t be the bride or that all eyes won’t be on you.  Your dress is absolutely stunnIng, and it’s your day- wear the dress that makes you feel fabulous!

@GretaMae316:  Your dress is amazing on you!  That color, that neckline…gorgeous!!

@Merinda1994:  Pure white doesn’t look good on a lot of people so if you wanted a bright white I would highly recommend trying it on first. However, Ivory is suited to most skin tones. You can look VERY bridal in a champagne, pearl, pink, etc. gown. If you love that color you should totally wear it!

@Merinda1994:  I commented on another post of yours about this being my dress as well.  I also had the same concerns as you.  I loved the pearl  but I couldn’t commit to it because I know Fiance wants to see me in something more traditionally ‘white’. I was able to have the dress custom ordered to have the pearl color under the lace and the pearl belt BUT i had the bottom changed to ivory.  I can PM you a picture if you want.  BUT if the pearl bottom doesnt bother you I would go for it because it is a BEAUTIFUL color.

If you love it, go for it. I am wearing white because the dress i loved happened to be white, but I could have been tempted by some of the blue ones! A wedding dress these days is just the dress you choose to wear on your wedding day.

White has nothing to do with virginity. When Queen Victoria wore a white wedding dress it was associated more with wealth than sexual status.

You look lovely in pearl and almost anyone other than another bride would still call it white.

“white” to me for a wedding dress means white, diamond white, ivory, pearl, even blush to me works.

@Merinda1994:  Absolutely not. I look horrible in white, there was no way I was going to get a dress that made me look washed out! My wedding dress was a pearlized white that was almost champagne.

A wedding dress these days can come in a large assortment of colors. Heck, if you want a blue or pink wedding dress it isn’t that strange.
