@Merinda1994:  Pearl is gorgeous, your dress can be any color of the rainbow you like. Mine was blue! 😀

Now a days white isn’t the only option for wedding dresses. I myself considered a pink dress but ended up going with an ivory dress

@Merinda1994:  I think the only people who care about having the white gown are virgins because it represents their “purity.” For me, I didn’t really care about the color because I am not a virgin. Also, super white is really hard for anyone to pull off.  My dress is ivory, so I didn’t deviate too much, but color is good.  And that color is beautiful against your skintone.

Up until the 19th century, the majority of brides wore coloured gowns. When Royalty began to wear white, it became the fashion, not out of symbolism of purity but because it was a status symbol. In fact, coloured gowns were more common during the 19th century because they could be worn again as the bride’s sunday best. The “necessity” of white for they gown is fairly new, so I would say go with whatever you like best!

I never thought I’d get a white dress but when I went dress shopping the other day all the ivory dresses looked yellow to me. I tried on a white dress to compare and white suited me better than ivory so I’ve ordered a white dress

No way! I’m rocking a champagne dress, I NEVER wear white (I look terrible in it!) so I saw no reason to get a white dress just because I’m getting married! I also hated all the white dresses I tried on!

While I had ordered my dress in white, I almost wished that I took more time to look around and venture into champagne or blush

@Merinda1994:  that color looks beautiful on you so dont worry about it not being white. I always thought I wanted a champange or ivory dress but after trying them on I didn tlike it on me and I liked the way the bright white looked on my skin…it all depends on you and what you like. I dont think you should have to feel like you have to wear white though…congrats on your engagement and your dress though 🙂

I ordered ivory … Seems classier… White makes some dresses look “cheap” I think

It definitely looks bridal in any of the color choices, so I doubt you will regret buying it in the one that suits your skin tone and tastes best.
