That’s so funny that you mentioned “Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban because that’s our song!! I knew it from the first time I ever heard it :). I actually think it’s perfect for a slow dance song, though. Since all me & Fiance will be doing is circling around one another moving out feets 🙂

I also have a soft spot for Country! I hope you find something girl!!

Oh, lemme think of the name here:

Our song is a country song, it fit perfectly in our relationship, since we started out long distance.

Oh, yeah.  “Just Got Started Lovin’ You.”  James Otto.  I’m just not sure if it’s…appropriate, you know?

Ours is definitely a reflection of us.  We originally picked “Into the Mystic” but Fiance never loved it that much.  Then we were watching The Big Lebowski one day and I really listed to the song at the beginning, “The Man in Me” by Bob Dylan.  The words are so “us” and it’s a unique song that no one else would have.  So that’s our first dance song now :o)

My SO is adamant that our first dance song be “Nothing Else Matters” … I think my traditional family is going to flip, but I have to agree with him. It’s been “our” song since we first started dating… And everything about it, the words, the style of the music, etc. is most deff a reflection of our relationship.

I don’t know if I can say that ours is a reflection of us but I guess maybe it is.  The song is one we both used to love, well before we met each other.  He’s not into R & B the way I am but he did like this song.  And the lyrics are very, very relevant.  It even says, “Next year lets call this day our anniversary, the day I put my heart in your hand and said that it was yours to keep.  From this moment on say that you’ll always be mine…….”

The song makes me cry whenever I listen to it!  Its called “You” by Jesse Powell.

@krissy18, Metallica Nothing Else Matters?  I LOOOOVED that song in 8th grade!  I made an entire cassette with it on a loop and listened to it over and over and over…

Our first dance will be to Adele’s cover of Dylan’s To Make You Feel My Love.  Adele was the musical guest when I surprised Fiance with tickets to Saturday Night Live (one of his top Must-Dos in life and something he’d been trying to get tickets to since moving to NYC), so it’s more the artist and song itself than the lyrics that hold special meaning for us.  The lyrics are beautiful and express how we feel, but we picked the song for more than that.

jason mraz “lucky.” it was our song way before it became a popular wedding staple. kind of drives me nuts that it has become so popular, but it’s our song and we’re keeping it.

We are dancing to “Stuck in the Middle With You” by Steelers Wheel. I think it is  pretty accurate representation of us because it is fun and its unconventional.

Our song is actually Unforgettable by Nat King Cole.

But the first song we heard the morning after we were engaged was Lucky by Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat. It is such a beautiful song and the lyrics describe how we feel about each other. So it was apt to use it as our wedding song.

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we’re in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

But we will be playing Unforgettable as our last song of the night.

Unforgettable, that’s what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that’s how you’ll stay
That’s why, darling, it’s incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

P.S. We love Stuck in the Middle With You!!

Our song was “then” by brad paisley. My husband chose it, and it really does represent us. Through we knew each other casually for a long time(different cities though) our first kiss was right outside his house. His proposal plan was to take me back to where we first met, but it was another city. So he proposed in front of all of our friends and family at our joint birthday party.

It really was a great song for us!

You know, I’m trying to work this into the wedding somehow… it’s Nothing Else Matters with only the electric guitar and it’s a bit more wedding-esqe, I think 😛 Metallica is FI’s all time favorite band and he would LOVE it!

Miss Damask we have the same song!  My Fiance and I have loved “Then” by Brad Paisley for some time now.  He actually just bought me the CD for my birthday last week.  I love Brad Paisley’s music but didn’t own a single album until recently! DUH  I can’t wait to dance with my husband….and I know I’m going to cry.  I hear it on the radio and tear up because it also reflects our relationship also.  It’s a beautiful song.
