I dropped him off this morning and I don’t know exactly what time his surgery is. I called them at 12:20 and he hadn’t started yet. I want to call again at 3:30, is that reasonable? Am I being annoying?
I’m just nervous.

@accorn: I’d call again.
When my pup went in for a neutering, I called a lot.

I’m sure they are used to nervous pet owners calling frequently, especially on the day of a big operation. Don’t feel bad about calling 🙂

Haha, I’m also a fellow “annoying call every hour” pet momma. You’re not alone 🙂 I’d maybe at least wait until 5 if they’re still open that late. FWIW, any time I’ve left a pet for a procedure the vet’s office has always called me promptly as soon as the procedure is done to let me know how they did or if there were any other issues or progress updates.

@accorn: My vet office calls us, so I would just wait and let them call you. Did you tell them to call you? I would leave them to do their job- I don’t mean that in a mean way at all, I know how hard it is! My pup was at the vet a lot this summer.

They will surely call asap, but I wouldn’t hesistate to call and check. It’s your little buddy- do what makes you feel better.

@cbee: Yes, they are suppose to call me but I know they get very busy and tend to always call my husband first because he has the same area code as they do.
I’m just nervous- he’s getting three pins in his toes today.
